Re: what the hell?
Are you smoking crack? Why on earth would anyone be jealous of an MR2 based on value? You can pick up a shed of an n/a for £1000, and you only need £2500 for a turbo, which in the grand scheme of things value wise compared to most cars on the road is pocket change. I'm sure it's absolutely nothing ...

What wideband are you using that you're changing the sensor that often?
As an aside, what's the standard MAP sensor? 2 bar?

What is it with some people? :? :-s One thing...Jelously. As they cannot afford to buy or run one it is automatically deemed Crap. As is anything else they cannot afford or hav any chance of owning. im sure it wouldnt be 'crap' if he was sitting in the driver seat (god forbid). People like that sho...

One of my favourite clips. Not strictly "drifting", but a good enough example......

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Handling
If you spin at 15 mph in the wet, it'll be down to one of a few things. 1. Appaling tyres. See that far too often on MR2s - I wouldn't put ditchfinders on any car, let alone a mid-engined car. 2. Driver error. Throttle has the option to be used gradually and not like a switch. (Turbos have more of a...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Fallen out of love with the 2
How do you think bump starting a car will cause turbo exhaust blades to shatter? When you lose blades off a ceramic turbo in that way, it's usually down to the car having run lean and weakened due to the excessively high EGTs. Johnny - just sell the car. I change mine every couple of years regardles...

Anyone got links to any to any threads about complete engine/rear clip removal?

Re: let go when side ways!!
I use the "let go" method quite a lot, but to make comparisons with proper D1 drifer ttypes is ridiculous. I can't speak for others, but I'm hardly doing 4th gear 100mph drifts from lock to lock. Allows you to nicely adjust the angle with the throttle though, but as always, that's the easy...

Ian,
That's great. Will have a search for the engine removal posts on here.
Got all the bits required - crane etc, so shouldn't be a problem.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Cambelt and clutch change DIY
Looking to do the cambelt and clutch on my Rev2 Turbo in a couple of weeks time. As I'm doing both, is it easier just to drop the entire rear clip out of the car, bearing in mind I'll be doing it on my drive? Anyone with any experience of doing it this way, as I'm sure it must be the best way to do ...

Re: Focus ST
Get a bluefin chip (or whatever it's called) in one and you've 300/300. Easily enough to own a lightly modified tubby on roll on a road speeds. No chance. 35bhp if you're lucky on the Bluefin. 300 would involve manifold, exhaust, filter, bluefin at a minimum. Our old FRS ran 360+ but on a different...

jon - there are plenty of VAG engined ones (mostly Elises) doing the rounds. Still, there are the odd out and out Exige racecar you wouldn't want to tussle with! Rarely does trackdays as he's racing Britcar, but it's very modified and VERY fast: http://tsuphoto.com/motorsport2006/public/mesc/brands/...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Getting Torque
If you look at the dyno graphs carefully, you'd see that cars which create similar torque number to hp numbers have the torque peaking early then running out of puff higher up the rev range. What makes for a quicker track car and more enjoyable car to drive (IMO) is a car which creates lower torque...

Re: [All] [Generic] High RPM reving on a cold engine (engine experts..)
No we're not.
We're talking about starting a car from cold and giving it NO LOAD high rpm from cold. That isn't abuse.
Take my camshaft example. It really isn't an issue.
