Re: [Mk2] [NA] 16" Tyre Advice

I just assumed that becasue they had the same tyre size printed on sidewall that the tyres would actually be physically the same size but there not! I didnt check to see if they were exactly the same height when standing next to each other...... Putting pics on a post is new to me (I havent even upd...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 16" Tyre Advice

I have 245/45/16 on the rear. Currently with T1R (previously Falken 451's) There is alot more grip going to this size! A bit unnecessary with a N/A but still makes me smile with the amount of corner grip available! :) The T1R in this size is actually about 2 inches wider than the 451! (I put them si...

Re: I had a go in a MK2!

Drawn in by my curiousity of what a mk1 owner thinks of a mk2...... Does anyone know what the fuel consumption of a Mk2 N/A (I realise this is probably the wrong section to be posting in!) is? If it helps i used to get +/-32mpg from my mk2 when commuting to/from work using the A6 bedford - to Dunsta...

Re: [All Generic] Reasons for weight reduction - whats yours?

I enjoy taking weight out of the car and find it makes quite a noticable difference on the track. Its nice just to work on the car a llittle, I learn new things about it and cars in general as i go along and it keeps me ocupied at weekends etc. :) I cant say i would be as interested if i wasnt going...

Re: Premium fuel in a NA?

When i use optimax it feels like there is better throttle response. I have a uk na rev2...... I use optimax when coming upto (and for) trackdays. :D It seems to drive just that little bit cleaner + maybe a small power gain - but its small (and i might well be confused with better response) But it de...

Re: keep banging my helmet

Taking the sun shades out does the trick for me. Just that little bit extra height :D and i aslo have taken the padding out of the seat base. I just fit. Im 6 2'. Helps to make a mental note of when the bump comes and duck a little :eye: I also found that a full face helmet sits taller off my head (...

Re: Bedford Aerodrome opinions?

I like Bedford autodrome. As said its got lots of run off and its nice to lap and challenge yourself without worrying about coming off and hitting something. No barriers etc... Great to push and learn about yourself and the car.(I did/have/will continue to :D ) Compared to the more interesting circu...

Re: Engine Temp Dial

This happened to me for a bit after i had done a coolant change. The needle when right down when booting it. went away and never came back after a few days. I did have to top up the coolant a little though during this time. I always thought it was a little air in the system after changing the coolan...

Re: how to remove trim around rear screen?

Mine was off not long ago.

I didnt need to pull the side plastics over speakers off - there are 2 x bolts/screws to undo on the trim first (located under the "hook" thingys!) then it should pop off. thats how mine went. Didnt take long.

Re: Std 15's, anyone tried using 50 profile vs 55?

Hello, I recently had the same decision to make and ended up buying Yoko A539's in 195/50/15. Price is was one reason but so was the good feedback i read on the a539 tyre which comes in that size. (have a search for a539). I would say they give good grip for the price. Outright grip is ok 2 good (no...
