Re: Water/meth injection: a theoretical and practical discussion

Yes Bob seems to have a lot of story's, pity he does not have any hard evidence/testing data to prove anything which is odd for someone who has spent so much time testing something as simple as a water injection system for seemingly years on end.. I have an analytical background/job, I design drug f...

Re: Water/meth injection: a theoretical and practical discussion

Can you supply a link to "a scientific study of water injection in a climate control dyno room"? There are plenty of people that spray water before the turbo, you cant tell me that any of the small amount of water they use remains as liquid after going through that so I cant see why the ma...

Re: Water/meth injection: a theoretical and practical discussion

I have put many data logs with the mixtures used on my WI thread on this site, its very well documented and contains a lot of information....no intercooler, no chargecooler, 95 octane fuel, 22psi, garrett ball bearing turbo, stock head gasket/pistons etc, temps on boost have been below freezing on a...

Re: safe levels of boost

As much as I hate to agree with Bob on anything, he's dead right IMO.

I spanked my rev2 with 22psi, it got serious abuse but it was running 95 octane fuel....it was however running methanol injection which took octane to silly levels on boost though and that there is the difference.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 450 bhp

I think it was Turbonoz that said that although I can understand why you confused us as we have similar mindset which I am sure comes from our shared backgound in nitrous. Personally though I would keep the stock block and use water injection to safeguard it and yes I would also use ARP's on a 450bh...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 450 bhp

Depends what turbo you are talking about, you can say "anything over 15psi you need to change head gasket" and then someone will go and fit a GT3582, run 0.8bar and blow the head gasket. So you can run less boost and have higher pressures. The statement that over a certain power level the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 450 bhp

You can run 450bhp at less than stock boost on some turbos though, breaking head gaskets or bolts has nothing whatsoever to do with boost pressure, its purely down to cylinder pressure. 8)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 450 bhp

No boost pressure will not be anywhere near enough to lift the head bolts, people use ARP's due to cylinder pressure which is caused by igniting a load of fuel and air into a given area and then trying to contain it, 25psi boost pressure is a very weak and meaningless force in comparison.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 450 bhp

Why on earth would boost have anything to do with it? It's like people think 25psi of boost would stress them....Think about it, the cylinder will have 175psi of compression when turned over by the starter motor and no xxxxxx combustion!!

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Amp settings help (sensitivity)

You just increase the gain until you get clip or the desired volume level is reached, whichever comes first.

I set mine up with an oscilloscope and a sinewave CD but doing it by ear is fine.

Thanks for the feedback buddy.

The new shipment of ends are scheduled to come in on Tuesday, I can either wait until then to post or send you the slightly longer ends I have in stock now, I can also cut them down but you never get a perfect cut TBH.

For the short term can you disconnect the wire from the door switch, that way it will not register the door has opened.
