Re: That grille below the rear bumper between the tailpipes

If yout talking about the grill between the exhaust tips, its part of the body work - it would have either been bent up flush under the bumper, or cut off.

If its cut off, only way of getting one would be off another car i think.

Braintree Freeport Retail park - Red MK2 Turbo rev 2

Parked in the retail park bit about 4pm today, K reg.

Noticed it as not only did it look mint, but original - you dont see many with original wheels etc on nowadays.

Anyone here?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo CV boots

Hi all

Does anyone have the dimesions of the turbo outer driveshaft boots? I can only find either full kits (i already have the inners) or full cv joint kits. If i know the measurements i can try and find an alternative.

Or if anyone knows a supplier, that would be great.

Cheers!

Clare's is definately NA unless she's converted it - we were talking about finding a good NA exhaust last time we spoke.

Re: No Boost - Rev 3 Turbo

No problem - glad it was an easy fix!

I had a Baileys DV on my old GT4 that did that occasionally - i took it apart and gave it a good clean and lube, it seemed fine after that.

Re: No Boost - Rev 3 Turbo

If you've checked the exhaust side, im assuming the wastegate door was seated ok, and still sprung shut? Did the intake and exhaust impellers bot thurn together? Im certainly no expert, but if the actuator had failed, i would have thought it would no longer open the wastegate door, and you would ove...

Re: No Spark

This sounds very similar to a problem i had on my old tubby - the management light would not come on and the car would not start. It faded in after around 10 seconds but the car still would not start. It would finally start, seemingly when it wanted to. My ECU fuse also kept popping, which said to m...

Are the earths ok? Could try checking the relay earth and the ignitor/ coil metal frame for corrosion.

Not an ECU, but theres a Apexi AFC in one of the photos.

I'd say thats a Rev 1 engine - dont the Rev 1's have the narrower throttle body?

Re: rear ball joints

They do seem to have a tendancy to weld themselves onto the hub as well!

When i did the fronts, i bought a cup type as the BGB SST is one. Didnt fit! Grabbed my trusty hinged one - screw was too short to close! I ended up having to jury rig another screw on top of the original one - worked though!

Re: Changing front shock

When i took a top mount off, i held the strut upright with a foot on the lower bracket, gripped the top mount with both hands, and wiggled it side to side while pulling, same method as getting a steering wheel off.
