Re: my mk1 4agze ae92 to a 4agte

thats very similar to the spec i was building although was going to keep it on toyota management. that how ever is hard work as it has so many pointless valves and all sorts.

Re: Caravan pulling?

towing with an mr2 should be quite good. it has a short distance from the rear wheels to where the tow bar would be, then you have lots of weight over the back axle, there 2 things thats are normaly the failing points when towing resulting in loss of control. but as mentioned above some weight over ...

Re: How much is an sc conversion worth?

Re: Megasquirt - 4age?

slightly off topic but in therory if you fitted carbs could you still run the standard ecu for the ignition control? therefore no need for a stand alone ecu? or is it fuel injected throttle bodies?

Re: Help! KYB GR-2 shocks - Not that Happy!

ive found kyb's either soft or hard. cant remember whic way around it is but the full set that fits the mk1a's are usualy quite hard then you get different rear shocks for the b model and the rears are dead soft and the ride and handling is a bit odd as a result of this. i quite like the hard dampin...

Re: Emanage install ...

im sure its a variable resistor i dont know of any efi systems that run a switch that is mounted as a rotary sensor.
maybe you just have the wrong wire from the orginal loom?
get a multimeter in the tps and check its actualy ok and work down the wiring from there.

Re: Head Gasket Questions

the gasket has a glue that melts when the engine is hot and then seals itself to the head and block so no coatings are required. sometimes you can add to metal gaskets, but it can end up causing many problems and you will have to do the whole job again.

Re: Goodyear Eagle F1 vs Vredestein Sportrac

what size wheels are you on? if 15's then theres a million choices if on 14's then theres not many sporty tyres as the orginal sizing isn't biased that way.

Re: Exhaust popping and banging

could be an air leak in teh system causing pressure changes from the cold air entering. or overfueling etc they shouldn't do it with the small bore of the magnex exhaust.

Re: Head Gasket Questions

take the manifold off it'll be easier in the long run. ie taking the head out and cleaning it up.
one thing you can do to save time is leave the drivers side engine mount in place you just have to slip the tin timing plate in with the head.
