Re: Rev 3 turbo engine problems - fuelling/fault code 14
Check the capacitors in the ECU. There are several threads on the subject, e.g. https://www.imoc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=1698948#p1698948

Re: Amber front side lights
Amber front / side lights are an MOT failure. Whether your MOT tester picks up on them is very much down to the individual tester though.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] ECU Capacitors
Rev 3 ecu electrolytic capacitors and suggested replacement part numbers. The replacement capacitors may have higher voltage ratings than the originals. Main Board: C002 = 63v 47uf - EKZE101ELL470MJC5S or EEU-FC2A470 C004 = 35v 33uf - EEU-FR1V330 or 100ZLJ33M8X11.5 C101 = 10v 100uf - 35ZLH100MEFC6.3...

[Mk2] [Generic] ECU Capacitors
Hopefully this may help someone else. When my engine started running roughly and not wanting to start I checked for error codes and found code no. 14 (No IGF signal to ECU 8 - 11 times in succession). Whilst looking for an igniter I came across various threads about the capacitors failing in the ECU...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel Pump Speed Change Query
I have seen that KB article thanks, unfortunately there's no useful technical info on the ecu control though.
Voltmeter is my back up plan but this (a) assumes that all is working as it should and (b) the ecu control decision process is simple enough to be found this way.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel Pump Speed Change Query
Does anyone know at what point the ecu bypasses the fuel pump resistor? Is it based upon rpm, map or a combination of the two?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] A 'what does this do' air hose question
Ah, so it's a re-route on the rev 3. On the rev 1/2 this take off is from the breather going back to the induction system before the turbo.
Cheers

[Mk2] [Turbo] A 'what does this do' air hose question
The cast aluminium pipe that connects the turbo to the intercooler on the rev 3 turbo has a take off boss cast just below the dump valve, from this a small bore hose it fitted; Does any one know what this hose is for and what it should be connected to?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I believe error 23 is an 'manifold air temperature sensor' error if it's the same as for the ST205.

It doesn't unless you reprogram it.

I think with the computerised MOT system the registration date comes up on their computer.

Re: Failed Mot for jap numberplate?
Sounds like the guy does not know what he's talking about. For cars registered from 1973 - 2001 you can either have the old style plates with no BSAU 145d mark and group 1 or 2 font style/spacing or the new post September 2001 style plates which must have the BS on it along with a bunch of other use...

What do you mean by 'jap' number plates; a square rear plate?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] AP Engineering Power FC Issues
Ah, in that case I'm you may need to use THG for the THAM signal but you may need to swap some other pins around too. It all depends on how Apexi designed the ecu.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] AP Engineering Power FC Issues
I would not expect you to have a manifold air temperature sensor unless you are doing the conversion to speed density. Are you doing the conversion?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] AP Engineering Power FC Issues
Are you doing the conversion to do away with the VAF? If not then I do not think wiring up THG to an air temp sensor will help. If you are doing the conversion then a different pin gets used.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] AP Engineering Power FC Issues
So it has an EGR VSV but not a EGR temperature sensor then?
