Looks like a cracking motor, I'm in the process of saving for another tubby, this would have been ideal (not got funds yet). Can't believe it hasn't sold yet. Free BTTT from me and good luck with the sale.
Dammit, I'm in Stoke and am keeping my eyes out for a tubby, sadly it'll be a few months before I've got the readies. I would have had this in a flash if it were a couple of months down the line! Good luck with the sale, looks tidy!
Thanks for the reply Allan, that might explain the hesitation then. I remember experimenting with it on my old tubby, reversing it definitely prevented the BOV from opening as it should as you could hear the compressor wheel stalling on the gearchanges.
Hi guys. My friend's rev 2 turbo is running the stock recirc dump valve, but is missing the little white one way valve from the pipework. Can anyone tell me what the exact function of this valve is, and what difference it may make running without it? The reason I ask is that whilst it was boosting n...
Hi guys. My mk1B has blown a nice hole in the exhaust on the weld just after the first silencer on the middle pipe. Being a bit skint at the moment, I'm thinking of simply hacksawing off the box, and fitting a straight length of pipe - I can't think this will add to the noise or be of any detriment ...
I think more pics are required before the real abuse can begin lol
Personally I would have done it all black. Are you going to be spraying the wheels? Might set it off a bit better if they were orange as well.
If that thread title isn't going to get some attention, I don't know what will! Hi guys, I bought a mk1b gearknob the other week, got round to fitting it yesterday (the car currently sports a Momo item that isn't really to my liking, and I want to put the car back to as close to standard as possible...
Hi guys - pulled my Nur Spec R off my tubby recently and could do with getting it sold. What's the going rate for a 2nd hand one these days? Mine's in pretty good condition, no dings or scrapes, and is fairly well polished. I've got the removable bung in the garage somewhere too. The only thing lett...
That's very kind of you Paul, I'll do a bit more digging to see if I can eliminate all other possibilities but I may well take you up on that offer. Cheers fella!
Not yet no Mart, didn't have a willing assitant to crank the engine with the EFI fuse unplugged whilst I attended to the spark plug and lead.... Although it's just occurred to me that I could have left the EFI fuse in and put a spare spark plug in to stop the petrol blowing back from the cylinder :o...
I haven't got any pics sadly. It did however catch the eye of a Fast Car photographer and made it into the mag at a car show shoot many moons ago. Mainly it depends on the finish you're expecting to achieve, if you're trying to bring alloy components up to it's former glory then it can be a pain, de...
Elbow grease. And lots of it. I got the engine bay on my old tubby looking pretty darned respectable, but it takes a fair amount of time and patience. The results are always rewarding though. Have you ever tried metal polishing before? *edit* Completely forgot to ask what you were trying to achieve ...
