Stripes & Decals

Hello, Who/where is the best person to get stripes and decals from these days? Mine were custom made by coverco quite a few years ago when I got my car resprayed as I wanted them white instead of the factory colours. I also removed the side mouldings so the door stripes needed to be a bit longer. As...

Re: Adjustable Cam Gears

Is that me by any chance?

I have Blox cam pulleys and when I bought them a couple of months ago they were all over eBay and labelled as 4AGE specific.

@superred. Nope.I listed the spec in my post.

M tech didn't provide the whp figure so I can't do a comparison there.

Re: 4AGE budget cam install and tuning

the only time I'd believe a flywheel figure is if it was measured on an engine dyno  Everyone that tunes their engine uses RR figures as a benchmark. Is there a rule on car forums I don't know about where someone has to give the "transmission losses" or "rolling roads over-read...

Re: 4AGE budget cam install and tuning

Just got my car back from Circuit Motors at Castle Combe where the car was Rolling Road tuned for HKS cams (256/8.1). They were previously installed and set up with assistance from vashy. I felt the car was quick high up the rev range but starting was poor, it ran rich and idle was very lumpy. It no...

I tried to get new ones for my respray in 2011 and one side is discontinued! Or was back then.

I have the part numbers at home, will check later.

Edit: found them:

Re: Thoughts on best disc/pads upgrade

I studied this matter thoroughly last year and finally rebuilt my brakes with refurbished calipers, new discs and EBC green pads front and rear. They have been brilliant on the street - summer and winter - and on track, too. That's reassuring. This is the exact setup I am hoping to fit this weekend...

Re: Perfect MR2?

I would happily call that car the perfect mk1 MR2. Can't fault the styling and that is the exact route I would go (given the funds and know-how) with regards to tuning the 4A over some kind of engine transplant. Having said that I'm sure we all have our own ideas or it would be boring! If it were mi...

Re: Mk1A seats into Mk1B (opinons please)

If they were fitted to a sw20 all you have to do is drill the spot welds out of the mounting brackets on both seats and simply bolt the mk1 brackets to the sw20 seats. There is a link on here somewhere Yeah this is pretty similar to what I had to do to fit the Recaros in mine. Drill all the welds o...

Re: Mk1A seats into Mk1B (opinons please)

These Recaros were called 'Milano', that was the model, so that is the seat and it will be used in other cars. You aren't going to pick up a pair for £50 though. Personally if I was going for Recaros I'd get something decent, like the Recaros out of a DC2, they are far superior to the Milanos' whic...

Re: Mk1A seats into Mk1B (opinons please)

I think the mk1a red/back seats would suit that car very well. Pretty much any seats you like will fit though by modifying/swapping the rails! There are some great bargains on eBay - I got these, which are quite similar to SE seats at a fraction of the cost: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v394/2F...

Re: Educate me a little on the MK1

Well to get you started. Any picture of the exterior will tell you if it is early or late spec by things such as bumpers, sideskirts, air vent. If it is a UK car it is almost certainly an NA, as supercharged was import only. Early cars have different dash/seats/door cards. Late spec had the option o...

Looks great.

It's the only bit of aftermarket body styling I would even consider for a mk1. Everything else I've seen looks bad.

Re: HKS cams

Unlike standard mk1s with the HKS cams it really does pull strongly right up to the limiter, intact the limiter is a bit too low with the 264s. This is my experience too! I am running HKS cams with a gas flowed cylinder head and Janspeed down pipe. Luckily vashy was on hand to assist with with cam ...
