Re: How easy is it to remove a n/a gearbox?

I was wondering about this too. Is 5th gear the only weak point in the 'box? Do the bearings etc. last a long time? Because if you've got pretty high miles would it not be more cost effective to just have it reconditioned?

Motorbike Throttle Bodies

I will soon be on the hunt for more horses and will be going for uprated cams but I've always thought about throttle bodies to go with them. However I'm on a fairly tight budjet and remember hearing about bike throttle bodies working pretty well with cars. Luckily I have a contact with a motorbike b...

Have you got one? How much are you after for it? I think the Janspeed idea will have to go on the back burner until after Xmas.

 I was quite shocked when I saw it! It really did go with one hell of a bang! Ouch, impressive pic, must've been some bang. What I don't get though, is why missing a gear filled the exhaust system with unburnt fuel. It should be ignited in the cylinders whatever shouldn't it, the plugs ...

   . I still can't stop laughing! I had the biggest fright today. Re: Spongey clutch pedal

is it definitly the master cylinder? not the slave on the gearbox? you need to make sure which it is? http://www.brakesint.co.uk/ is a cheap place Cheers for the link :) Well it's leaked down the bulk head so yea, pretty sure. The slave and surrounding areas are bone dry. I think Lunarmatic might b...

Re: Spongey clutch pedal

Sorry to bring this back up but it is definately the master cylinder that is slowly leaking as its bubbled the paint on the bulk head :( . Is there a repair kit for them or is it just best to replace it? Anyone have any ideas of prices?

Cheers

Thanks for your reply :) . I had a serious brain lapse and didn't think about checking the obvious, the reservoir  . Just checked it now and it was empty. I took all the gubbins out to get to it and was greeted with a nice amount of bubbling paint under it  . I've tightened up the bottom...

Spongey clutch pedal

I recently had my car fully serviced with cambelt change. Whilst it was in I was driving another car. When I picked it up I thought the clutch felt different, like it had some play in the pedal before it actually disengaged the clutch and also had a spongey feel to it. I just put it down to the fact...

I did exactly the same thing. I had a black Rev2 Tubby. Nice, quick car. just couldn't live with the unpredictable handling and above all.... The running costs   . Couldn't believe the difference when I first drove the MK1 8) . The handling alone makes up for the decrease in power :) Nic...

I've always been told to keep well clear of Keighley, apparently they sell the worst of the imports. A fair few forums that deal with imports tend to slate them quite badly :?

Re: Best Wax

I'd go for a sealing wax. Meguires Gold Class will do just the job. Autoglym also do one called Liquid Hard Wax but I'm not sure if you can buy it off the shelves as I've only ever used it in the trade.

Cheers
