Re: Which pads to choose for mild upgrade?
It depends how you drive I suppose. I have EBC greenstuff on mine and they are very useable and do bite nice and sharp. I have had them fade, however but only after 10 mins of clear road and heavy braking. I haven't tried any other pads (other than OE) so wouldn't like to recommend them over any oth...

Re: £1500 - 2000 for arch and screen repair????
Yeah my plan is to do a few track days this summer and see how they cope. I've got EBC plain discs with green stuff pads which are ok on the road. I have managed to get slight fade out of them but this was only due to 10 mins of completely clear twisty road. Don't think they'll hold up much on the t...

I've seen them and they look awesome! If it wasn't for the fact I'd need to fork out for bigger, wider rims I'd definately go for them. One to consider for the future, along with GT4 brakes I think

Yeah I agree. Problem is, round my area most of the bodyshops only deal in insurance work. So dealing with low profit, time consuming work like this is not in their interests.
I'm not in a mad rush so will do some more enquiring, just really want it back for the summer! lol

Re: £1500 - 2000 for arch and screen repair????
By the looks of it yours needed more than mine does. But with the screen removal and repair I would've expected around £700 - 800 at the most.
I think the body shop just couldn't be bothered so gave me a daft quote!

£1500 - 2000 for arch and screen repair????
That's what I've just been quoted even though I am supplying all the arch repair panels! Is this the norm? I was expecting about half that. I know repairing the screen can be a bit of a ball ache but the arches should be fairly straight forward. Is £2000 really what I should be paying for a decent j...

Re: Not a good start
After having a good look around the repair panels on ebay look to be the cheapest. Have many people used these panels?I know very little about the quality of steel so need your help! Basically, I want to keep this car until I'm physically too old to drive it (currently 26!) because I love it so much...

I don't know why but I never think to check ebay for things like that, cheers. :) I think the bottom 2 inches of the wing may need to be replaced but no doubt the bolt will be dust by now too. I've yet to remove the other side skirt yet so I'm sure there's more little suprises for me there #-o Cheer...

Not a good start
I've not been on in a while as the MK1 has been off the road (due to being unemployed) however I am now back in work and eager to get the little 'go-kart' back in action. As it had been stood for about a year I thought I'd give it a bit of a looking over as I notice a bit of bubbling around the rear...

Re: MR2 Challenge, a few Q's
Yea it is something I'm weighing up at the moment as I may want to put more money into the suspension etc. Thing is, I work for a competition parts suppliers ( http://www.whartonmotorsport.co.uk/ ). And the car will likely end up as a demo too so might end up looking elsewhere to race. Just depends ...

Sorry mate I'm unaware of plusgas?
I've been under the car with a screwdriver aimed at the bottom of the bush and been whacking away with a hammer but it won't budge. There's not really enough room to get a good swing at it either

I bought one of those bearing kits off ebay and decided to fit it today. Did the bottom one fine, no probs at all. Got to the top one and first of all I couldn't get the retaining clip out due to rust, then after removing the battery to gain access to the top, i got it out. Now, to make matters wors...
