White dials and black hands
Up to page 49 of 111 of the MODS section (bored at work) and found this thread. Are the purely white dials and black hands shown in the bottom photos of the German link available anywhere or are the hands just the standard ones painted black, never liked the lockwood look but the plain white is floa...

Re: DTM mirrors
Hi Mike, Got some M3 style which came with the base plates. Have asked in Halfords before as they sell similar mirrors but got bored and wandered off as the assistant was gone for 15 mins. Could try the US company that advertise the full set on ebay if they have some spare. Only problem is that the ...

Got 'em but no-one hasever accused me of being a chav, sniff
Hi, Got an electric set myself without the indicators. Great looking mirrors on the car but although they look like they fit horizontally in the pictures, and on M3's, when fitted to the MR2 the angle of the window tilts them up too much so they have a slight horn effect. Going to trim them down so ...

Re: Chromed heat shields
Thanks Scott, Exactly what I was after, how much did you pay for each? Living "Up North" now so hopefully might be a bit cheaper but I'll definately go for nickle on the manifold shields and copper base on the deflection shields. Nathan, Manifold heatshield is wrong shape but thanks for th...

Re: Chromed heat shields
Hi Simmo, Ooooh shiney shiney, hope mine matches up. Thanks for the suggestion, but I'll stick with the originals. Are the parts on your engine new, chromed, or original and rubbed down and polished? And why does everyone say "why bother, you can't see it". Have you please got any more clo...

Re: Chromed heat shields
Thanks for the confirmation. I've already rubbed the steel parts on the car down twice, which rusted through the lacquer before it was sprayed chrome and didn't fancy chroming the heat shields for them to discolour in a few days. Definately will go for the chroming over a powder coat, have one sat a...

Chromed heat shields
Hi Kids, As everything on my engine is now v shiney, ali polished and steel sprayed I'm at a loss for the heat shields. Polished them up to a mirror shine, but they went rusty and I don't want to spray them as they'll be a integral part of the shiney factor. Has anyone had success with chroming and ...

Clean Is good enough, heed the words of wisdom
Hi Lewis, Whatever you do don't take it too far.... I have hand polished to a mirror finish every bit of the aluminium in the engine bay and even all the steel (100's & 100's of hours) Unfortunately even though coated with VHT clear lacquer the steel parts all rusted so they have all been primed...

Chrome Dial Surrounds
Hi All, There was a guy on eBay a while ago selling stick-on chrome dial surrounds for the MK2. Not the plates that fit over the full facia but thin strips to go around the circumference of each dial. Does anyone know where I can get these or has anyone crashed/sold their baby before fitting. Heard ...

Orange Oil Can on dash display won't go off!!!!!!!!
This is probably the smallest of my worries at the mo. Have had a new engine fitted and since then the small orange can on the left of the console lights up after the car has been running for about 20 seconds. Car is topped up with oil and water, any ideas please, constant light is annoying. Cheers ...

THOR Alarm-need HELP if you've fitted one
Hi All, Has anyone fitted a Thor alarm system to there MK2. Having problems knowing which wires to connect to from the distributor, and not sure if this is why the engine start wont click in. Everything else is fine on the unit, central locking, boot release etc, but when the engine start is engaged...

Dash DVD
Hi Grant, Managed to fit a 7" fixed DVD player screen into my Mk2, fortunately the old radio supports fitted and with the help of 2 small bolts as spacers managed to get flush with the dash and it looks the dogs. Only had to do a slight trim on the radio surround but the re-wiring is a git. Hav...

Mk2 MR2 Real Panel
Hi All, I'm asking if anyone knows the make, or hopefully where I can get, a rear panel (for REV1 lights only) for a Mk2 MR2.Th panel is like the back lights and has the same reflective red colour and countour lines. ( Not the one with the three big ripples or the one that MRD do). Hope someone can ...
