Re: Whistling at speed (40mph) - new weatherstrips or will re-aligning windows fix?

You need new wing mirror mounts or you can bodge it with Velcro, the rubber perishes around the window glass and lets in air. Does it get a lot louder when you drive faster? Motorway driving was horrible, replaced both mounts and no more horrible rustling noise. Also see here - http://www.imoc.co.u...

If you can find omeone with a Halfords Trade card they do good ones and you get quite a bit of a discount :-)

You wouldn't buy GRP materials from another country as they are readily available here in the UK

Re: JHclassics dino conversion

I dont think these look very accurate at all. Wrong stance and the MR2 roofline is all wrong whereas the other types had an entirely replacement bodyshell - sort of makes it look a bit chubby :-( Seriously, either buy a 2nd hand early deon for about £17/18k or better still go for the other companies...

The chap behind the company used to make the deon (which are more accurate shape IMO) and they come up for sale now and again http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/ferrari/246/ferrari-246-gts-dino-replica/474690 Heres a ready made mr2 one http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classif...

Here you go :-)

If youve got the right tools then go for it, otherwise take it somewhere like Lukes in Flamestead M1 J9 which is not too far from you.

Re: TRD rad cap and TRD oil filter! questions??

If you go onto the TRD parts site here: http://trdparts.jp/english/list_mr2.html and click on the name of the part it tells you all about it eg. Radiator cap: http://trdparts.jp/english/parts_radi-cap.html Oil filter http://trdparts.jp/english/parts_oil-filter.htm Ignition leads etc http://trdparts....

Re: another bleeding brakes problem, no pedal pressure after changing calipers

Your rear pads have a little stub on them that needs to be engaged in the slots on the caliper otherwise it will feel like youve put thicker pads in - could that be the case? With regard to bleeding are you making sure you only slacken off the nipples just enough to let the fluid/air flow - if you d...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] When does a mr2 stop being a sports car and become a hypercar or something

I absolutely love the GT300's but TBH they are not "supercars" - they are racing cars. In my mind the best way to define a supercar is the sort of car you'd buy if money were no object. Sure you could make a lesser car perform the same but why bother when there is some really cool stuff ou...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] When does a mr2 stop being a sports car and become a hypercar or something

Wildly different from a road going car.... :-) http://trd2000gt.forumotion.com/t123-gt300-pics-engine-and-internal-photos Not denying the success of MR2s - just think its ridiculous when people think they own a supercar just because they've fitted an air filter and big exhaust then tear round like a...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] When does a mr2 stop being a sports car and become a hypercar or something

Jeff - I interpret those posts as more to pointing out that when the ferraris were limited to 300bhp there was no magical 'supercar handling characteristic' that would help it to win over a cheap modified production sports car like the MR2 :oldtongue: There was a bit more to it than that.... The JG...

So are you saying that your modified rev 1 is a "supercar" then?

Not really sure what the point is your trying to make....?

theres also a little rubber ring over the other end of the slider bolt which can cause problems too so check that as well plus whether the bolt is rusty too

most probably done by some keen young lad lol

Think your next step is to buy your stereo and see what connectors you get.

Re: Fitting a radio what do I need (pics of what I've got)

Its ages since I did it so might get this a bit wrong but basicly unscrew gearknob, and unclip leather surround and remove the gear surround plastic so the bottom of the fascia can come out - see the lip at the bottom here http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/jeffreyduckworth/EBCFitment002.jpg I'm j...

Re: Fitting a radio what do I need (pics of what I've got)

You usually get some kind of adapeters with a stereo so see what you get first. Also, there is a link on your link "will this fit my car" so have a look in there although I would buy adapters elsewhere as they will be much cheaper than Halfords - useful to see what you need though

Re: Fitting a radio what do I need (pics of what I've got)

See those 2 brackets? You need to remove the dash surround so they can be unscrewed and removed then screweed to the stereo and 1/2 bin first then screw back in http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/jeffreyduckworth/Blitz%20EBC%20in%20Ashtray/BlitzEBCinAshtray052.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums...
