Have you tried using a drift/chisel and hammer. Or a left handed tap? If they're new shouldn't be too hard to remove.

That's a lot of oil being used up. Re do the compression test on a warm engine, wide open throttle, remove the EFI fuse and king lead.

Re: Exhaust performance - Japspeed vs Mongoose
Japspeed , very uncomfortable around 3k, or it could be poly engine mounts or both.
Anyone with this exhaust and not running poly mounts find it drones at 3k?

Re: Lift-Off over steer question
Tyres make a huge difference in the way the grip let's go. The MR handles great with a proper chassis tune and tyres, you can really cover ground quickly but dont expect to throw it into corners like a hot hatch. Best advice to anyone is get some track time to really explore the limits of both your ...

I love this exhaust and really want one but circa £800 is just too much when you can have something really nice custom made.

Re: Forged Engine - Which Oil?
Cheers for the great post Rob
So, a thermostatic cooler would be better if tracking and seeing 130. Its better to control temps than mess with viscosity as once out of temp range it'll be thick for the stock clearance.

Re: Forged Engine - Which Oil?
So with stock oil clearances, would 10-40 still be used on track? Or better to go thicker.

Re: Forged Engine - Which Oil?
As Ash said 10-40 is Ok going on oil temp range.
It gets to 110 when driving relatively hard and 120 when really gunning it.

Re: Walboro fuel pump on rev5 turbo
The stock FPR will regulate the flow by returning fuel to the tank. So you don't need adjustable fpr for just having a high flow pump

Misting of oil is ok but not puddles. Check the intake side and is the breather pipe connected.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Best Braking ?? , advice welcome.
My drive down to Wales yesterday with a bunch of bikers and as you can imagine I was pushing hard to keep up. I had a couple scary moments on stock pads with massive fade but they did bite as the speed dropped. Based on my experience I reckon a fast road pad would be ok with braids and decent fluid....

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] AC recharge
Thanks, needs further investigating, but first need to get it recharged . I vaguely remember reading someone with a similar issue and it was something behind the dash causing it. (not thermistor) .
surprised no one can tell me the weight of freon these cars take.

Should have said had it emptied during my rebuild, there's no leaks as the last refill had a luminous dye mixed with the freon.

[Mk2] [Turbo] AC recharge
I think I've asked this before. Couple summers ago I had the AC recharged and the guy said he needed to know what weight goes in as he needed to input it into the machine? Or they normally put in what they take out. Does any one know? Rev3 Import. Also another issue is, it'll come on cold for about ...

Probably the felt pads inside the window strip has worn or either come off. Do the window down and have a look you can see them.
