Re: Restoring paint work on a 3E5

There's no lacquer on them or they wouldn't fade. And if you polishing it back to red buit its coming back in weeks then you haven't polished it right and its the fillers in the polishers making it look red, the fillers then wash off leaving you back to square one. Do it properly and look after it ...

Re: Rust and The SW20

I wonder if theres a pattern to this tin tops Tbar, drainage points, different sill structure perhaps with Tbar chassis strengthening? One of my MR2s went like this and it was a Tbar. I find it hard to believe that the sponge sinking within the seatbelt panel could cause such extensive rust to the i...

Fiat Tipo, Mk2 Astra GTE?
I love the throwback mods, reminds me of KITT or back to the future.
Good luck, will be interested to see the finished result :thumleft:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Wind Deflectors for T-bar

Whats wrong with the ones already on your car?
I think Peter was on about the plastic deflectors that fit on tin top cars, they sit at the top of the closed driver/passenger windows

Scary indeed! I was overtaking a shogun on the motorway once and its bonnet flipped up. Your safety catch must have been stuck open due to rust or lots of oily cack.

Re: PN-Request: Late SW20 Front Fender Linders & Speed Flap/Spoiler Brackets

Or you could just buy the flaps and 6 nuts/bolts and drill (very easy) the original arch liners and bolt them on. Really isnt worth going to the trouble and great expense of buying the arch liners, theyre exactly the same as earlier ones just without the 3 holes in them

Re: Restoring paint work on a 3E5

I had to get my rev3 super red 3E5 resprayed as it had faded too much, polishing got it back ok for a couple of weeks, but 2500 quid later it was like a new car How far did the car get stripped back? Did they put a lacquer on it? I am going to get mine re-sprayed. I am even considering a different ...

Re: found a fault in my mr2 :S warning to all

This has been discussed before an here and on mr2oc , Rob went to great expense to get all the rust cut out and made good, cost was around £800 for both sides I think. The sponge falls holds moisture in the corner. Still unclear whether water leaks let the water in (engine bay, window seal, drainage...

No, im not in the market for an MR2 at the moment, and the sonic shadow colours would be my last choice, I think that black rub strip makes the car look awfully dated.

Re: Japspeed exhaust aaarrghh !!!!

Take it off and batter the thing to death, those Japspeed exhausts are dreadful  Anything will be quieter than that, except Apexi N1 or Blitz Nur. If you wanted to stay twin exit, the Fujitsbo Leg R is very quiet, but try finding one, same can be said for the Phoenix Power Departure 2, lovely ...
