Re: mounting gauges in the centre console

I'm planning to tap into the chargecooler coolant pipes underneath the handbrake and just run the wires through the bottom (I think I read the sensor needs to be within 50cm of the gauge, but that could just be a limitation of the included sensor cable). If you cut the little sensor off the existin...

Re: mounting gauges in the centre console

Are those charge cooler temp gauges in the ash tray? In my car they are reading Pre & Post IC temps, also get good response when the Methnol injection kicks in. (post IC) This was a kit I put together about 2yrs ago, Ashtray lid replacement, pre-cut for gauges, 2 temp gauges with sensor, and wa...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Pothole damage :-( cracked rim, need advise...

Our youngest lad David just had a claim against the council for damage to his Rims on one of his cars, think they paid out in the region of £1600 after a "friendly" garage did the damage report for them, and due to the depth of the hole and the damage, I believe he was paid out within a co...

Snap..... Looked at Lexus, Ford, VW and a few others, was some nice one's but worked out to be silly money. I think the LED route is the best option.

Re: What tyres for fast road use (18inc wheels)

I have Falken FK-452's (255 on the rear) and they stick like glue, I have deliberately tried to get it to react on a quiet roundabout at work, and it just grips in and holds it. I've previously had Goodyear GSD3's and Toyo's but rate the 452's a lot better. My personal opinion.......and a damm good ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Anyone ever fitted heated seats?

To be honest I found anywhere on that centre console was really tight for space behind, I think on on of Gayle's switches I had to bend the terminals to an L shape them glue gun them in. Where I put mine looks very oem and discreet. Get them wired up, sat in mine this afternoon with the engine runni...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Anyone ever fitted heated seats?

Excellent job their bud, nice pics. Okay switches, I have used two places. On Gayle's MR, I have put them either side of the arm rest, if you look at the corner where the oval plastic is for the gear leaver, then come back 15mm and down 10mm I have the switches either side on hers, HOWEVER, it is re...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] URGENT Request re 5.25" Vibe Black Air

Hmmm maybe have a rethink about the 5.25" and maybe consider going to 6.5".......I will have a look at available speakers, cheers for the help

Just seen they do the same speakers in a 6.5" (GTO 6508C) so looks like thats the best option to go for.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] URGENT Request re 5.25" Vibe Black Air

I like what you've done with the OEM Speaker area, might give that a try. But speaker wise, to match up with the JBL Amp, I think I am gonna go with the JBL GTO 508C, which is a 5.25" speaker to save me having to mess around with MDF Rings (Woodwork is not my domain). Hopefully going to mount t...

[Mk2] [Turbo] URGENT Request re 5.25" Vibe Black Air

Looking at getting the vibe Black Air 5.25" which I THINK should fit without any messing around, however the mounting depth is 64mm and I've got no way of checking if this will be ok. If anyone out there can advise, or even have access to the speaker area to measure, would be mucho appreciated....
