Re: confused with my MR2 Spec..
Initially, as you've got the sunlight sensor on the dashboad, I'd say that you did have CC, but as you don't have numbers on your temperature slider, I'm not overly sure...
Have you got an 'auto' setting on your fan speed control?

Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

Re: confused with my MR2 Spec..
I have the Climate Control on my 91 Gltd
On the Fan Dial there is an Auto Setting - this is what turns on the Climate Control. The Auto Setting runs the fans to get the car up to or down to the temperature you set and adjusts the fan speed acordingly.
Another way of seeing whether your climate control is fitted is to have a look under the drivers side of the dash.
On the left hand side below the steering wheel - there should be a small grill of about three slats - behind this should be a small black rubber pipe - this is where the heater matrix sucks in air to see how warm the cabin is and to set the fans acordingly.
Hope this helps.

Re: confused with my MR2 Spec..
sounds like it's been re stickered m8
set it to 'LO' (everyone elses 'auto') does the cabin stay the same temperature or does it get hotter or colder? does the fan speed up & slow down by itself?
mines - off / auto / low / : / high

Re: confused with my MR2 Spec..
Then you don't have Climate Control.
The sensor thingy is for the Air Conditioning I think. Something to do measuring the heat inside the cockpit. I think that the hotter it is, the colder the air con blows ..... I think.
Can't really remember if I'm honest.
Ben

Re: confused with my MR2 Spec..
To be honest. Ive tried to live with the climate, but I cant be bothered with it, so i keep altering the temperture to stop it feeling stuffy.
G-limited means top of the range for N/As. As with all the extras.
Aircon's nice in the summer though!

Re: confused with my MR2 Spec..
i have climate and it's great, gives a good blast of air and the auto setting saves me messing with the speed
air con is wicked for steamy windows as it takes out the humidity in the air and clears it faster than a standard heater
gonna be nice come summer just wish my air con didn't smell, think it's cos it's not been used in a while, or shaf shat in it when i wasn't looking

Re: confused with my MR2 Spec..
You can get a spray from Toyota to kill the slimy fungus stuff that causes the smell. Just ask them for the stuff to clean out your smelly aircon. Ask them nice and they'll tell you what to do with it.....
