Turning turbo 90 degrees

Post by ENSMR2 »

I've read and heard about a few people considering doing this to various Turbo cars. apparently it'll increase power but decreases reliability.

Anyone heard of this and can you explain it? I guess the air has a free'er flowing path in and out of the turbo.

i would imagine that rotating the turbo a few degree's towards the rear of the car, was done so that the IC pipe from the turbo is further away from the hot exhaust and shield.

Not sure that this would be easy to do though without mods to cooling and oil lines to turbo not to mention wastegate actuator, and Intercooler.

Thanks
