[Mk2] [Turbo] Thinking of a new DAB radio in my MK2...

Post by PUG_2_MR2 »

My XTRONZ radio is really annoying me it has a busted screen, has to be flipped to insert cds and is analogue...so there is nothing to listen to!

I have 2 subs in the back so it looks like an Active System so has external amps.

I have taken pix of my wires but don't know exactly what I'm looking at as there are hundreds of em.

So if I was to get a DAB like the Kenwood DNX-4210DAB will it be a straight fit and would I need any adapters as I wrote to one seller about another DAB and he kept saying until he saw pix he couldn't say...

Bump.

I found another alternative.

Eonon 7" GE01BE (DVD Player GPS NAV SAT DAB+ NFC)

Does anyone think this will fit the MR2?

I don't mean size wise but based on the car's age and the fact that it doesn't have steering controls, is DAB even possible in this car?

I asked the seller some questions about the radio but he came up with this:

''Please noted the system of the steering wheel control function can not support can bus car''

Can someone please explain what he means? The radio will still work ok thru touchscreen and buttons, right?

Never worked with a radio so its all alien to me.

At the end of the day I stereo will work with 12v power and a set of speakers.
I've got what appears to be a Russian or polish pioneer in my car and it works fine.

Thanks for reassuring.

This radio can only be bought in Asia so just need to make sure it's gonna work.

The XTRONS I have is similar and work well...just damaged screen.

I will measure up for it, Thanks :thumleft:

Old thread, but I have just had a Kenwood KTC-BT710AB fitted. DAB and FM radio facility, with CD, bluetooth and i-phone/pod compatibility that looks relatively unobtrusive, and does not light up like a fairground.Suits the black interior really well, and has face-off to thwart the 'scallys'.
