I took the standard stereo out of my 95 n/a a while back and replaced it with a pioneer mp3 jobbie only problem is the aerial dosent go up anymore so i cant get a signal on any radio stations.
The aerial worked with the standard unit so i dont think its that thats broken has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?
Im using the active speaker iso with the phono connections if this makes any diffference?

No sure it help but, I remmeber Mr2 aerial is weire, I think you need to bright 2 wire into one to get it to work, but cannot rememebr which 2 wire
Re: Not your usual aerial problem?
Thanks for your help, all the wires are sealed into the iso block and i have no idea which ones to play with, has anyone out there put their aerial control onto a manual switch? It seems easier to just bypass the stereo?
MR2 Aerial - All you need to know.
Joncus, Do not despair. This is quite normal and I have documented this and much more about the aerial system in a pdf. This was hosted on the old site so when I get home I will did it out and upload it to my own site and post the link. Basically you need to make a simple wiring mod as the aerial requires an enable signal and a separate raise signal. All should become clear once you look at the pdf.

I forgot it is already uploaded.

How do you put in a link to appear with text like "this link" instead of the actual url?

Re: Not your usual aerial problem?
ok so i went outside tools in hand with the best intentions to look at the problem at hand and solve it logically, i was bored of this after about 5 mins and just started joining wires together, mainly black ones.
Anyway turns out the ISo i had (the one for the active speaker system)needed 2 blue wires with different connectors on each end joining together!
Pictures avaidable here:

On a seperate note my aerial although i am happy it actually moves only seems to be going up half way its way too cold to be messing about with that today anyway!
thanks to everyone for their help, Ashy if you need to use any of those pictures to update your guide please go for it

Re: Not your usual aerial problem?
now theres something wrong with the aerial now?? yeah ive got similar prob, aerial goes up but never comes down lol
Re: Not your usual aerial problem?
Joncus,
I replied to your email before I checked here. See how what I said compares with how yours is now connected. Perhaps I can update my doc. Two most common resons mast only goes part way up are: Sticky mast and stripped teeth from the nylon rod insert. First try aplications of PlusGas or WD40 on the mast a couple of times a day for a few days. If no improvement then strip it down to identify the cause. Still could be sticky mast though but you can then manually get it freed up.
