I just wondered whether this was possible? being 6ft4 the mk1 isnt the biggest car about so can you remove the sunroof and drive around without it?
Cheers,

Can you do a trackday with the sunroof/tbar out?

I don't see why not - most of us in Roadsters would be doing it with the roof down (unless I'm still being bone idle by the time Anglesea comes around, in which case the hard top might still be on the car )

I spent elvington driving round with the sunroof open cos my fat heat was rubbing on the roof when I had my helmet on
Re: Can you do a trackday with the sunroof/tbar out?
Excellent, spares me the crick in the neck at the end of the day
Re: Can you do a trackday with the sunroof/tbar out?
used to pull the sunroof out on mine if it wasnt raining, bloody heavy thing.
Re: Can you do a trackday with the sunroof/tbar out?
I've a tintop so i ended up buying a second set of seats (leather) and cutting the base out of my cloth seats. My ar$e now has about 1" of padding between it and the floor plan so lots of lovely feedback through my bum if i place a small block there
Re: Can you do a trackday with the sunroof/tbar out?
Interestingly, in motorsport you would be required to take them out! They don't allow glass in the roof at all.

Excellent! If I can't get my bucket seats lowered before anglesey, I'll have to remove the sun roof just to fit in the car with a helmet

Don't you dare, ya lazy git! My hardtop is off already in preparation.

Well I was going to last weekend, then it promptly chucked it down on Sunday..
And it's all snuggly & cosy in there on the way to & from work when I've got the hardtop on
Re: Can you do a trackday with the sunroof/tbar out?
Just IMO - I always use the hardtop when the Roadster is on track. It makes the car much more rigid and improves feedback a little even though I have the TRD Front brace and a Corky's brest plate fitted.
Also - on the remote chance things go badly wrong and you end up shiny side down, I'd rather have a hardtop on to add a little additional protection
