Re: Gearbox
Id rather have a good condition second hand box, ive had 2 and they have never been a problem.
Recons are ok, but id prefer an unopened box.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

IMOH
- plain 2nd hand gearboxes are a bit of a lottery
- you could end up with something that's been looked after well

or not.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Personally, I'd pick up a normal second hand box
- f its got no history I'd consider taking it to a gearbox specalist and getting them to take a look.
To check it over should be farly cheap
- what is
(much) more expensive is getting replacement gears and syncros

Re: Gearbox
ok thanks, ![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
its not just the gears that have worn out tho!its a bit of a disaster because the diff has actually shot through the gearbox casing!
