MK1 with German Autostyle bodykit / GOT PICTURES OF IT NOW
Just bought a MK1 with one of these imported German kits, its the same as whats on Jo's orange Tango MK1, anyone know much about them.
The kit along with the wheels were imported from Germany 14 years ago by the previous owner. Found a bill for £2000 for a recent respray in 2003.

Have a look at http://www.mr2supercharger.com/StyleAutokits.html if you click back to the "bodykits index" you will find a few other kits, about 40 if I remember. Richard Morgan

Jo its a MK1 'A' with later spec side grill. Waynes right its got a set of really rare standard German spec 15" alloys, never seen these before in the UK but I've seen them on early German advertising literature. The wheels were imported along with the kit at the time.
The cars red, I'll get some pictures sorted.

There are some tasty mk1's there. I like the wide rear arched beasty and that silver one with the polished plate and fancy zorst pipe.

Looks really good Michael!
A very nice body kit, one of the best i have seen.
Never seen those wheels before either!
Where they only for the German market?

Steve,
Yea I'm sure they were made ONLY for the German market. I have an early German brochure and they are pictures of the MK1 'A' with the same alloys on. I'm actually going to replace them with a new set of 17" Dezent wheels and will be putting these up for sale soon.
Cheers

Alright Wayne, you have 1st refusal on them, give me about a week to get the new ones sorted out, you should be able to get them in the back of your Toyota Starlet.

Very nice looking motor, a tiny bit of work and that will be a stunner! That kit looks good without being too extreme... and i do like the colour, not that I'm not a fan of orange
The wheels do suit it! I'm sure I've seen those style of wheels before, I just can't place them!

Mate I haven't quite been tango'ed. The colour is actually red, just the light of the camera playing tricks.

I know, I was referring to the 'other' Styleauto kitted car; the one you can't miss

It is, why would you consider that not to be a good idea? (sorry for hijack btw).

Re: MK1 with German Autostyle bodykit / GOT PICTURES OF IT NOW
Well I don't think it's a good idea at all.
I've got two sets of wheels and tyres and have done trackdays with both.
One set is 16" (the ones that came with the car) with 205/40/R16 Yokohama A520's.
The other set I bought and are the early pepperpot 14" wheels, running Yokohama AO32R's
The car handles much better in my opinion (and is much quicker I think) on the original wheels

Generally 17s are thought to ruin the handling abilities of the MK1 mate - indeed anything bigger than 15s.
