ok ROADTRIP

got there and it was as bad as i was expecting, terrible

get it home, taxed and insured it and took it for a quick test drive

oh dear, the clutch is slipping.

took the clutch out, heavily worn new clutch in adjusted the pedal correctly, all is well.

before driving it again i decided to stick a full polybush kit on it and new droplinks.

whilst doing this i had a prod round underneath and several more issues became evident.

handbrake cable was snapped

rear sills where full of newspaper and filler.

brake caliper bolts where only finger tight.

oil was 2.5 liters overfilled!!!!!!!

the electrics where dangerous.

that and all the cosmetic issues meant this was getting expensive fast.

so the jobs completed so far
fitted a spare pair of bucket seats i had kicking about after making new mounts that are actually strong enough.

new clutch

polybushed throughout

new drop links

serviced brakes

new handbrake cables

flushed cooling system and refilled with correct coolant mix

welded up the sills

sorted wiring or at least some of it.

and im sure there's loads left to do.

so errrm, hi, and ill keep this thread updated with the trial and tribulations of fixing a morons castoff.
