Hi all, the display on the flip down front plate on my stereo has broken. Other than that it works fine but obviously can't use all its features. Do people repair these things or better to just bin it and start again?
Cheers
Rob

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stereo display
Looks a few years old to be honest, but given that I've got to sort a few more things out on it that I didn't know about I need to do it cheaply if I can.
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stereo display
1) what make is the HU
2) how old is it
3) go on-line, call the folk who make it, speak to them, try and get a very rough quote
4) check specs of something equivalent now -compare between quote + postage costs + hassle
5) just buy a new one of costs don't stack up, cheap HU's do more than expensive ones used to (check connections are the same)
...simples!

Often the back lighting goes, can you still see the display is you shine a torch at it? is it a Sony by chance?

It's a Pioneer, torch doesn't work, it just has a faint vertical line flashing and going side to side.

Did you call Pioneer? What did they say?
