ROGUE "pimped my ride" - the before and after

Post by CosmosblueMR2 »

I shall start this thread with my heartfelt thanks to Patrick and everyone at Rogue Systems.
http://www.roguesystems.co.uk/

I have been a Mk2 MR2 owner since the age of 23 (now 8 years), my first was a Goodward Green Rev4 T-bar ...totally standard. In those early days i was not aware that Toyota even made a turbo version of this car.
Events passed that would see myself "upgrade" to a Rev5 Cosmos Blue T-bar 2 years ago now. When i purchased this car i then did know about the turbo version but the bug had not bitten hard by then.
After 6 months of searching I was fortunate enough to find this totally mint and standard UK car, 1 owner from new and a fanatic at that - the car had been garaged it's entire life, every receipt, every service invoice - even the original bill of sale from ToyotaGB was there.... I did not hang about ..the full offer of the asking price was given and the resulting inspection came back obviously with flying colours.
Since owning this car however the bug started to bite... I now dreamed of a turbo version of my car - my car - you see I knew the entire history of my car - it was a T-bar - it was in my personal favorite colour (Cosmos Blue - for those that do not know ..it is a metalic purplish blue only available on Rev5's). So it had everything I wanted except now i wanted a TURBO - there was only really one option open to me.... get converted 8).

This decision to get a conversion was not taken lightly, I did a lot of personal research and took over 6months to finally decide yes, and of course who to entrust with the work - Enter Patrick from Rogue Systems.
Phonecalls are no match for a personal meeting and I knew from a brief chat with Patrick at the MR2004 show at Bruntingthorpe that he and his company were the people up for the challenge.
I must admit I was a bit slack at ensuring a donor car was "sourced" but early this year i was fortunate enough to get a call from Patrick - they had a car that as it turned out was registered a year later than they were led to beleive and so under the new SVA regs was going to be too expensive to make UK legal - So I had my donor car - a 1997 Rev4 tubby.

Finally the before and after pics :D
