Just wondering if we could start a 5S-GTE - section..
Seems a few members are changing over...

Re: 5S - GTE..sub-section
I was hoping there would be some more interest .. maybe start a pole on whether we should have a new 5S-GTE subsection .

Re: 5S - GTE..sub-section
Only 82 members have viewed this thread to date....
Maybe there aren't that may 5s-GTE cars..
I was hoping to share my experiences with members so they don't go through these same issues...

Re: 5S - GTE..sub-section
(Personally speaking) I do not feel we should dilute the forum any further by adding an extra section.
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.
Re: 5S - GTE..sub-section
I would like to see one .. 5sgte , v6 , v8 .. could be an informative subsection . mr2's doing the extraordinary .

what set up you going for, bud..
Re: 5S - GTE..sub-section
Sorry- don't need a separate section imo...too much shared info between these engines, you'd end up with the same thread in 3 different places!
If anything I'd go even further and say we don't need separate Mechanical and Modifications sections...just stick it all in mk2

Re: 5S - GTE..sub-section
In 2002 we asked Imoc if we could have a dedicated section for engine converted Mr2s, 1.5s were starting to get built then and we were at the start of launching the V6 swap in the UK, so a dedicated section seemed reasonable for something that we knew was going to be huge.
The reply we got was that there was not enough interest in the Mr2 scene and it would never be popular, and were told no.
So that is why Twobrutal was started and today has 7,500 members, with hundreds of converted cars, dozens of pages of build threads, people from all over the world and a huge club scene. We get big traffic numbers and it has been a massive success.
I personally feel Imoc made a big mistake back then and could have given us a small corner of the forum to discuss our swaps etc
So if they weren't going to do it then, i doubt it will happen now.

Re: 5S - GTE..sub-section
agree with Paul here, for anything actually interesting Two Brutal is the forum to use, for advice on stockish cars this is the place, i.e. dodgy sensors etc, imoc simply isn't the place for swaps, conversions etc....more a place to document build threads and argue about foreign affairs and the like although this is probably the best place to buy/sell parts of all the mr2 forums.

Thanks for your comments, guys...
I would tend to agree, ref : IMOC - isn't moving forwards with the times.
I haven't looked at Two Brutal, may have to join and have a look..

Re: 5S - GTE..sub-section
absolutely, My premium membership has just run out and I probably won't renew it, a sig and access to the "premium members" section that contains pretty much nothing isn't really worth it
Just when you think it's about to move with the times it stops dead.

Re: 5S - GTE..sub-section
Honestly before they start adding any new sections they should maybe upgrade the forum software. I remember someone saying it might happen but then nothing did. Something about the garages.
I"d probably pay for premium again if the damn forums got upgraded.

Nearly every other forum is on Tapatalk, having to browse Imoc on Safari is stoneage in all honesty.
Desperately needs sorting.
