I got bored with my sounds and redid my install so I could refit the space saver to keep the RAC happy and removed the powercap.
Here is my new frunk board made from alloy chequerplate

The 3 way door builds

New fibreglass enclosure

Behind the passenger seat

And a cover over the amps with neons under it

What do you think ?

Thanks funnily enough the sub and enclosure are coming out as I will be fitting my next enclosure as soon as its finished, as the kenwood db+ is a dual 4ohm voice coil and I am putting in a dual 2ohm which will double my amps output.
So the enclosure is up for sale.

As I have already said I have removed the Kenwood sub and enclosure to fit a Kicker S10L5 sub in an Auto Acoustics enclosure which I purchased off a club member who said it was dual 2ohm voice coils, as it wasn't sounding very good due to the box flexing I stripped it to find split mdf on the baffle and 3 screw holes in the top I then added a few layers of fibreglass then sound deadened it, then I realised it was a twin 4ohm sub ! So I have gained nothing so it will be up for sale.
I took the car to a local sound off and recorded 128.6 db on a termlab.

Very tidy install mate

I miss the bass (use to have a Prelude with 12" subs) but I am not skilled enough to make the cover in the frunk Oh maybe one day!

yeah very tidy, i just installed 2 10" subs and an 8" sub behind the seats!!!!

350watt powering the 8" and 800(2x400watt) powering the 10"s, it sounds pretty good, just need to upgrade the standard speakers now as they are letting it down a bit!!!!

there is literally no room in the car now!!!!

Looks good...i really want to put my 1500 watt bass pusher in my car but there is just no room, besides I sat it on the seat and waked up the gain, my window cracked...
Think it wood be to expensive to keep replacing glass every time I get over excited so a smaller set up is due!

Wood go down your route but I cant afford to lose all that space behind seat!
Maybe the center console must go

I have since upgraded my charging system other wise known as the big three (TB3) which comprised of me adding an extra 4 gauge cable to the alternator going to a fuse in the boot then down through the car to a circuit breaker in the frunk then to the battery to try and keep the voltage up I already had 2 extra 4 gauge earth wires from the battery to the body and have added extra earths from the engine to the body which has all helped.
Also changing from a pattern alternator to a Toyota one has made a good improvement
Now I am just waiting for my new sub box .
Then my next job will be to move the amps I think ?

am in the process of thinking mine out, i need to make a box i think to house my type x sub,

what size woofers do you run in the doors? as i have 5.25's focals from my old 106 as they were direct replacements but feel due to lack of space i will loose alot of mid range sound

I am running 6.5" mid bass and 4" midrange in my doors along with the tweeters, I have fitted 5.25" components with mdf adaptors before

and they did sound good. focals are nice speakers but I would recommend amping them and making some mdf adaptors to fit them and some sound deadening in the door.
What size sub have you got ? What size enclosure does it need ? How deep is the sub ?

This is a small box that will fit behind either seat.

12" type x alpine sub, that will be driven by a rockford fostgate bd1000.1

focals will be amped by my audison srx4 as its truely criminal not to amp focals correctly.

My new slot ported box (tuned to 38hz) has turned up

and my new seat just want a half leather passenger seat now.

I managed to get a matching speed and here are some pics of my progress the bluetooth mike for my pioneer headunit fitted into the interior light

Never thought to put the bluetooth mic in the interior light! Mine's just stuck on top of my steering column

As the red mr2 died, and my replacement rev3 never got done I have bought a new project

So my soundsystem will live on in this car as soon as I get it fitted.

About time I updated this
Started running Speaker wire into the doors

If you unplug the door looms in the footwell you can pull the convoluted rubber tubes out of the pillar which makes it easier to run new wires through

you can use the old wires (blue and green O/S) to feed the new wire through
Also ran RCA's and speaker wire (8awg power cable for the sub) to the boot

Had to cut a hole for them to go through and protected with convoluted plastic

then cover with sound deadening as no rear speakers and fix wires to sound deadened bulkhead and refit carpet.

Some 0awg from the alternator to start the big three

Get speaker rings ready

Firstly I applied some sound deadening then got a tube of Polyurethane Adhesive Sealant which I applied to the back of the speaker rings then screwed them to the door using the oem mounting points and left it to set

I had a good think about where to put the crossovers as they should be as close to the woofer as possible, but if they are on the door card you have to run the wires through to remove and refit it. I toyed with them in the footwells then decided there wasn't room so

cut a hole in the door card whilst I was trimming it to clear the speaker ring

Then fitted the crossover and ran the wires

Sound deadened behind the tweeter

Fitted the woofer

Carried on with my cut out speaker grille to show off the woofer and you can see the crossover in the pocket

Finished door (until I change red lens to clear)

I also added puddle lights and perimeter protection to the alarm

I was just going to ask if you've done the big three (I used 0 & 4 gauge for my install), are you still running a stock alternator .. My alternator couldnt even get close (even with power caps) to powering my 1500watts worth of amps
