I've been quietly working on setting up a YouTube channel, in a vaguely similar style to Mighty Car Mods, starting off with the red NA I rescued from London. After a few ups and downs I've finally started cutting videos so I thought I'd post up here for you guys to see

I'm just "playing" with it at the moment; seeing if I enjoy it, whether people watch it and what I might want to do with the format. I hope my production skills have improved even over the first three videos but constructive feedback is welcome. I hope you enjoy them

Re: YouTube project - Geek of the Road
Looking good so far, I'm a bit of a fan of restoration/saving cars from scrap videos. Nice work.
Re: YouTube project - Geek of the Road
Not quite RoadKill but better than anything i could do. You should get someone like littlemisstuby to present it. Good luck really impressive.

Haha! I've never actually met Tina, but I bet she's both easier on the eye and more knowledgeable than me

Nice one, you are getting slick at the videos now.
The stereo - you used the existing amps - I have never seen anyone do it that way before. How does it sound? Do the old amps make much of the loud?

Sorry, very delayed response! They sound fine... I suspect the speakers are letting down the sound before the amps.
The reason I installed the stereo like that is that it was plug-and-play. I wasn't up for running speaker cables around the car and, with the active system, there are no speaker wires on the standard loom to attach to.
Re: YouTube project - Geek of the Road
As always, life got in the way of a quick turn-around on this video. However, here's the custom induction kit I made for my NA...

So when I said "life got in the way"... I was kind-of on the other side of the world! I got the chance to shoot a couple of videos while there, though. Here's the first:

Wasn't sure whether it was worth commenting on here or YouTube, but I figured I preferred here... Watched a few and enjoyed them! Sorry about KITT!
I agree with your feelings on the Mustang. I hired one for a 10 day road trip in California, Arizona and Utah including the Pacific Coast Highway. I really lucked out; it had 10 miles on the clock and was a V6. I enjoyed it - obviously it felt a lot more lardy than the MR2 but a nice GT car all the same and the 2500ish miles were both easy and enjoyable - mostly. The gearbox was dire (though I understand they've improved it a bit since then) and definitely the stand-out worst feature on the car. It does also feel cheap. Our was squeaking and creaking too after only 2500 miles and the fuel gauge had already stopped working. Didn't stop me coming home and looking at how much they cost over here though!

Re: YouTube project - Geek of the Road
10 miles on the clock... wow! I think mine had about 12000. I did enjoy the 'stang, but when I then landed in LA to start my 10 day road-trip I opted for something else (cue another video... when I get time to make it!)
I was musing whether I'd eventually buy a RHD mustang here in the UK. I guess it's actually a convertible I fit in, so isn't immediately rules out
Thanks for watching and for the feedback! Now if only I could find another thousand or so people like you...

Re: YouTube project - Geek of the Road
a thoroughly good watch, very jealous i'd love to have done that. Seems like a once in a life time trip
i've just booked to go to japan for 10 days in may. I am trying to get a GT86 to have a blast up some mountains going to do a video log just like yours.

Thanks! It was certainly a once in a lifetime trip... the videos only cover 2 weeks from an 8 week adventure
GT86 in the mountains would be awesome. I hope you can sort that out and I'd love to see a video if you make one
