Re: best lowering springs and from where? what do u have?
is it ok to whack lowering springs on without changing the struts?
it's a route i may go down as a cheap way of lowering before i spend a fortune on TEIN suspension which may be a bit over kill!
rev2 turbo for those that don't know

Re: best lowering springs and from where? what do u have?
Iam glad you mentioned the Fensport ones. I was planning on getting a set in the New Year. I had instruction on the imoc track day & he mentioned that my suspension was way to soft. So soft that the car became unpredictable on some of the corners. Its not the struts as these were replaced last year with Bilstien sports. I didnt change the spring at the time doh.
So is there any advance on the PI springs?

what bout eibach? they do any for a rev 2?
Re: best lowering springs and from where? what do u have?
Yes Eibach do springs for a Rev 2. I've got a set fitted to my car and they are very very impressive. Progressively wound also so they won't shake the fillings out of your teeth on the daily drive to work etc.

Re: best lowering springs and from where? what do u have?
I first fitted a set of Fensport springs to my Rev 3. After a couple of miles I started hearing a bad knocking noise coming from the front when going over bumps.
On further investigation you could see that the spring had almost collapsed and the coils were sitting on top of eachother. Whenever I went over a bump the coils would crash together. I promptly got on the blower to Fensport who said that they've had some problems with their spring supplier supplying 'soft' springs. They sent me a set of Eibach springs at no extra cost which have since been very good.
Good increase in yaw gain and steering response while not being too hard for typical english roads!!

cool where from?
Re: best lowering springs and from where? what do u have?
I got mine in a local "tuning" shop here in Éire. When I say "tuning" I mean 5 inch universal back boxes, 34 inch alloy wheels etc. But he sorted me out with a reasonable deal I suppose.
Re: best lowering springs and from where? what do u have?
I have Pi springs in my turbo.Got them from Dan and have been very impressed with them, really stiffened the whole chassis up.
Re: best lowering springs and from where? what do u have?
I'm also running on the Eibach 25/30mm springs which I find to be excellent. I'm not sure that they do 40mm springs but best check to make sure

they do a 40mm drop, just came out. did you change your struts as well mike?
i may go for the Eibach springs as i'm low on funds and can't decide on suspension anyways.
whifbitz do them for about £165 for the 25-30mm drop not sure if 40mm will be to low and a bit harsh if i keep the standard struts.
