[Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel pump replacement - Walbro OEM/Toyota/Walbro 255LPH

Hi,
What is the best option for replacing fuel pump, I am not planning on running any big power.

Everyone seems to say walbro 255, but l I see Walbro have a OEM 40PSI version which I was thinking might be perfect for the job, considering no future upgrades are planned.

Hi Tony, did you get an answer for this after all?
I have 220k in my Rev3 tubby, with the original pump. Not causing any hassle now, but when I will need one pump, I'd like to know the possible options. I don't want a loud pump either.

Thanks for your reply. OEM supra sounds even more expensive, than OEM MR2. Its 320 bucks on toyotapartsdeal. Is there any cheap and cheerful option available? Some japanparts brand or blueprint or such reliable aftermarket part?

I don't mind paying around 100 - 150 for one, but 320 is a bit steep.

I ordered the Denso version of the supra pump, the part number was 950-0155

It's a bit cheaper than the toyota version and is more than likely the same thing just not in the toyota box. Although I had to get mine from the us.

I tried to order that one first but at the time they wouldn't process my order for some reason I can't remember. So I went for the normal denso supra one.

Walbro is out of my basket for sure. I just googled walbro noise and you get plenty results. Also, as I read, it gets noisy(er) over time. For some people after 10k.

Maybe the higher current draw holding you back. As I read, you would want to upgrade the wires all the way to the battery (or the box in the engine bay) and you may also need a beefier relay (30A?) which could be controlled with your existing relay for the pump.
I could wire it up no problem, but not sure if I would want/need it.

Also, I'm no expert, but wouldn't a much higher pressure pump put more stress on the fuel pressure regulator which could lead to earlier failure?

At this stage I'm leaning towards the OEM equalent Denso pump

It's been in mine 12 months - feeding a 2gr which has done a couple of track days - no issues so far.

Yep mine has done pretty much mostly track day mileage and the afr's were fine. I mean at some point I'll be slapping on bigger injectors and an fpr so thats the next task for it to cope with.

Ive a walboroi and yes its slightly noiser but you defintely cant hear it over the engine which is when it will be used lol
