[Mk2] [Turbo] Steering fog lights - taken apart?

Hi,
Has anyone taken apart their steering fog lights to check/service the motors in them or even know how they work?

I have never seen any threads on this, but I'm interested if you get any info.

A plastic adjustment cog on the rear of the front fog light has cracked. I would like to know if there are any universal replacements?
