Wheel Alignment settings (one for a STICKY?) converted to mm's

Does anyone have the Wheel alignment / geometry settings for the MK2's.

I believe they were slightly different from the Rev1 onwards, mine is a Rev 3 Tubby.

I thought this would make a great sticky / Know your 2 article.

How do i convert this to mm, IE. toeing in 2mm + / - 1

Most decent alignment places can switch their equipment from metric to imperial so you dont need to convert the settings.

Also, I would go with "Dino's" recommended settings rather than Toyota's.

neil, whats the difference in the handling from dinos V std settings. I'm going to be needing new tyres soon so i was going to get the alignment done at the same time ( the place has 4 wheel alignment ).

If I request different settings they will likely get shirty

Essentially the settings are similar to a rev1. It gives less understeer and is much better balanced than the rev3+ settings.

A large number of wheel alignment centers will use the old rev1 settings for any MkII MR2 that comes into the workshop anyway.

I printed out Dino's page, highlighted the settings I wanted and gave them to the guy doing the job.

Next step for me is to fit my camber bolts and get a smidge more negative camber on the front and set the rears as close to stock as I can get them.

I've resurrected this thread from the depths as i've seen a few people just lately asking for wheel alignment settings. I've always used Dino's recommended settings and think they give a nice stable ride. Unfortunately the MR2 Mania site has been down for ages so for anyone looking for Dino's settings, here you go

just to confirm......what rev are these settings for? EDIT - i just read it all, rev3.

are o.e. settings same for rev2-4? (i know rev1 are different), and for tubby and n/a?

Not sure about lowered or stiffer cars but I run these settings with 17" rims and they seem ok. Dino's recommended aren't that far from stock rev 3 so I'd say it would be ok for anyone with a lowered or stiffer setup.

I have the full suspension set up run low on tein ha coil overs and keep to the Dino type settings.When I enquired about more aggressive settings was told that there was no point as there would be less tyre contact with the road under load and more unnecessary tyre wear.So have kept with their settings and find It perfect over the years and using Falken GRB 452. on all roads wet en dry making safe handling. Notice on this video In third with throttle only no brakes the trd lsd draws the car to the far side and towards the inner circle of the round about. So I drift slightly wider to compensate from being drawn In. There was no under steer or over steer but fairly neutral. Result.The front bumper Is three Inches off the ground/road clearance.

Thought it would be handy to convert these figures into mm's


Dinos settings:-

Front toe (total) = 0.4mm or degrees and mins +0°04'
Rear toe (total) = 2.1mm or degrees and mins +0°30'

Camber front (negative) 3.6mm or degrees and mins -0°50'
Camber rear (negative) 9mm or degrees and mins -1°25'

It goes without saying but here goes:-

Front and rear toeing in and negative camber apply.

The camber measurements would be distance from 90 degrees to the top of the wheel edge, so leaning inwards towards the body.

Hope this helps anyone who looked at the degree and minutes figures and thought, ehhhh

As the figures show these are very conservative and should provide a nice steady not too tail happy car.

What are Dino's setting aimed at road or track or a little of both, I'm looking to set my 2 up with a track bias which I thought would have a little more -ve camber.

Any thoughts

also remember: alignment settings are measured as static on our cars.in a perfect situation the car will keep these settings but thats not the case.so to help the car MAKE SURE every movable part of your suspension is in top notch condition and makes its job well before making an alignment.
also keep in mind that a sway bar is part of the suspension system too as well as tire wall stiffness, cars center of gravity, squat and so on, dont forget the drivers style.
for a daily driver i wouldnt change toyotas settings.
alignmet settings isnt a universal thing for track cars so expiriment...
