Hi as per title
Finding t hard to match up a staggered set in 16"
i.e. 205/45 x16 & 225/45x16
without being a kings ransom or ditch finders
best compromise ive found is Yokohama V701
was going to go toyo but can match a set up of them either any recommendations
(ps tight yorky, already spent a fortune ha ha)

Re: availbilty of `16" tyres
How many miles do you do a year, and does it get used all year round?
If you're not doing mega miles, and very little if any in the winter, have a look at the AD08R (now AD08RS) and NS2R. Great dry performance, reasonable wet performance.
I do have a full set of Kumho KU31 part worn in those sizes, about 5-6mm left on them. Sat doing nothing, if you can find a reasonable price for a courier (I'm in Essex) then I'm sure we can work out a very tight Yorkshireman friendly price
I liked the KU31's when they were on the car. Nowhere near the AD08R's of course, but they performed well enough, decent feedback, good in the wet, and not too noisy. Pretty much what you'd expect from a modern mid range tyre.

I might take those tyres off your hands mate
Back to the OP, there is some pretty good prices on NS2R on ebay now. £160 for 2x rear tyres which is a bargain considering the performance they offer. The fronts I think are similar price, maybe a tad cheaper.

Re: availbilty of `16" tyres
I've found the KU31 to be very acceptable for general driving, the tread pattern is also very clean (if you care about that sort of thing). You can't push them too hard for very long but they'll take it in short bursts. For the price it's hard to beat them.
It's worth remembering that a number of tyre brands are merely European marketing names...e.g. Dunlop are actually Sumitomo tyres - and people would normally turn their noses up at a 'Chinese' sounding tyre brand. I've experienced great wear and road noise (low for both) from Sumitomo and would be happy to have them on the MR2 if they came in the right sizes.

If you want cheaper tyres get 17's, 16's are more expensive because with there are less cars with 16's being made.

AD08R - Excellent tyre for the price and should do the size you need.

I'll have a set of barely used (less than 100miles) Toyo R1-R on some staggered 16" SA3R for sale very soon. I'll have to reup my premium on IMOC. I'm just waiting for my other wheels to come out of storage next week so I've something to sit the car on. Nice price for you, Brian.

Hi Chaps
I was thinking ADRs to begin with to be honest, and i think they are about to have the Buy button pressed
I would have ordered this weekend but with band rehearsals, trying to rebuild the Rev 6 headlights i bought for wiliki the younger when he had the cosmos, time flew by
Oh the Rev 6 quads, previous had used self tappers in threaded captive nuts !!!! had to grind virtually every fastening off!!!

Re: availbilty of `16" tyres
They're excellent tyres, the only downside is the wear rate is higher than your typical average road tyre, so not recommended if you're doing 15,000 miles a year! Not an issue for those who do well under 10k though.

Re: availbilty of `16" tyres
hi yeah
I'm luck if i can get 2 to 3k use in the cosmos, all dependant on the weather
but now Ive spent this much on it to rescue it, going to be dry use as far as i can control it, and program of preventative maintenance is in order, to keep her as she should be

As long as your alignment is right, you'll get a good few years out of them easily no problem. You should replace every 5 years anyway due to age
