Obviously it depends on what you want from a car, but for me the mk3 is a far better car than the mk2.

Hmh, have you had experiance with brake fade on the mk3 Ben?
Whilst prepping my mk3 for racing I put braided hoses in the'nice to have' catergory rather than the
'must have' catergory.
An upgrade to Carbotech pads, 5.1 fluid and new OEM discs give masses of braking ability and fade free after 20 mins at 10/10ths on circuit.
Can happily out brake those mk2's into corners in the mk3!
