Hi all, noticed a strange thing the other night..
If i drive part throttle in fifth I can get to 10psi without the ecu switching from closed loop map to the open loop map.
I know this from my AF gauge, basically I can get to 10 psi with the ecu still using the lambda sensor ie the LEDS are still flicking between rich and lean and back again.
Surely this isn't right?? Does the cross over point between the closed loop and open loop have something to do with a throttle position sensor??
Cheers

Oh sorry, forgot to mention, I have a HKS EVC4 set to 1.15 bar which obviously spools the turbo quicker than standard and an Aussie downpipe.

Yups dont sound right, you must be on the fuel map by 10psi

Nope, it will all be load dependand thus RPM and AFM signal

Oh sh"te, any idea what is happening here? The engine is a rev 3 by the way.

Can you fr1g the boost controller to spool up the turbo a little later ? The maps on the rev 3's run quite lean up to around 4K rpm and even the factory setup limits the boost till then... so possibly no data for that load.
I know mine often coughs and bangs and starts going a tad lean if the boost whallops in above 1 bar below 4k ... Thats running the stock map, but I've tuned in / out the fuel according with the fuel computer I have to iron this out.
HKS EVC4 ... ruddy hateful thing to use and adjust !!

rev3 load dependand thus RPM + MAF & MAP signal

I can't adjust the spool up time at all on the EVC4 so I'm a bit stuck.
Strange thing is the car runs really smoothly even though it must be running lean as f@ck unless i put my foot right down.
Wonder if it could be my water injection thats helping the situation.
I'm a bit stuck with this one.
Would a unichip be able to sort this problem out?
Cheers

Disconnect the water injection and see if thats resolves the problem. If the probe picks up reduce intake temperatures, it'll fuel less.
Its possible your spraying too much water in ?? not atomising correctly ... that would bog the engine down and make it run crap !
