- Over on the PlayStation Blog, Dylan Jobe
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
-- Warhawk game director
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
-- just popped in to spill the beans about the next Warhawk update
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
-- the 1.3 patch.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
"So far, Warhawk players have logged over 7.3 million hours of gameplay and have scored over 206 million kills!" Jobe wrote.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
"And during this time, we've keenly observed the battles, looking for opportunities for us to further balance Warhawk's gameplay and over-arching
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
'combat economy.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
'"
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The result of the team and Jobe's observations is two upgrades for troops on the ground.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
First is the Mechanic's Field Wrench.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Used to repair vehicles, Jobe wrote you'll swing the instrument when you're near an allied vehicle and
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
-- BOOM!
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
-- it's fixed.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Run into an enemy and you can use it for one-hit kills or to damage their vehicles.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Up next for grunts in the field is the Bio-Field Generator.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
You'll grab this device and hurl it like a mine.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The generator will stick to whatever it lands on and if an ally stands in the resulting field, he'll regain health.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
If a bad guy walks into it, he'll get fried.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Where's my wrench?!What else does the patch bring? How about some Home integration?! Once you get the patch, Jobe says you'll have the tools to
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
"form groups, meet in their apartments, discuss tactics, and then launch a game of Warhawk
all together!" Games launched from Home will appear on the global games list in gold.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
"When you're in your apartment, all you do is whip-out your virtual PSP, select
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
'create game' and pick Warhawk," he wrote.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
"From there, you get to start your own player server, pick a game rotation, set server options and then
BAM
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
!! Launch Warhawk with all of your friends!! You can also pick to not make your game viewable to the other Warhawk players around the world, or you can make it a
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
'public' game that puts all of your friends into the server together, and leaves open slots for other global Warhawk players join.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
"
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The new patch will also allow players to choose push-to-talk or open-mic when chatting in game, adjust the voice-activation level, and clearly see who is talking.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
There's even a new all-talk server so players
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
"can enable cross-team trash talk.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
"
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Jobe says that the patch is getting tested right now but doesn't have a release date yet.
