Hi is for Android

as per post on previous page by the man himself:-
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
I did not had much time for the next gen device development.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
other important projects have taken most of my time in the last months.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
at least I got to build enough OBD1READ device to match the demand for the summer.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
So what you can do with OBD1READ
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
+ TOYOBD1:
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
It allows display and recording of sensor data on an android device through a bluetooth connection.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
basic use goes as follows.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
the OBD1READ device is always plugued to the car.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
you come in with your phone.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
place the phone on a bracket on the dashboard, start the car, start the TOYOBD1 app which connects automatically to the OBD1READ.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
then you have additional info from the car ECU
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
, that info is not available otherwise.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
when you shut it down you close the app and take back your phone.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
another intended use is with a permanent tablet install, CARPUTER mode
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
with that one you simply start the car and the app comes back from sleep and connects to the device.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
then goes back to sleep when you shut it down.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
so basically you don`t give much attention to your tablet while you drive.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
then the diagnostic man
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
,there is no special mode for it.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
you bring both your android device and the obd1read to a troublesome car you probably don`t own.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
you plug the obd1read to the diag box, then connect with it using the app.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
you do your diagnostic job with the engine running while you fidle around the engine bay looking at your phone as needed.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
quite useful when starting an engine swap for the first time and you don`t trust the car`s gauges.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
proved useful for me to diag bad map sensor, incorrect STA wiring job( twice).
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
in some cases you find problems without even taking readings on the car`s wiring harness with a multimeter.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
It happened to me to troubleshoot people in other countries using log files they sent me.
