And a frustrating step backwards

I ran 315bhp with an exhaust restrictor fitted on a standard ecu so i don't see it as being a step backwards. Boost creep is so annoying, and i didn't want to run a standalone ECU and map the creep out as it expensive for not much gain.

A restrictor is still a patch for the problem though - a stock CT turbo like OP has should not be creeping to the point of fuel cut. Something must be causing this to happen.

I've had a TT hybrid turbo for years now. Never experienced boost creep.
Current setup is:
Hybrid TT Turbo
ARC intake
Greddy Intercooler (genuine one)
Aussie downpipe and old mongoose 3'' exhaust.

HOWEVER: I do have an AVCR installed and it changes all the way through the rev range and learns each gear/rpm etc for the set boost level.

Instead of spending money on restrictions why not spend it on a different boost controller?

even with an AVCR if the wastgate isn't flowing enough then you will still get boost creep as he had said he turned the boost controller off and it was still overboosting

Take it back to turbo technics. Let's face it, it's somehow not fit for purpose.
