[Mk2] [Turbo] HKS turbo timer installation question(s)?

So I just installed my HKS turbo timer using the appropriate HKS harness adapter.

It all works, sort of, the voltmeter display is fine and so are all the timer functions.

However I didn't connect the handbrake sensor wire. So when I turn off the car the car it switches off immediately instead of my chosen time period. I'm pretty sure this is because I didn't connect the handbrake sensor wire so it cuts off immediately when I turn off the ignition rather than counting down safely with the handbrake on and thus cutting off immediately to prevent the car being stolen as it counts down.

Is there any way to bypass this so I don't have to start pulling apart more from to get to the handbrake sensor switch wire and just connect it to some other live?

wouldnt it be best to install it properly? But then again, you voided your insurance by installing that unnecessary crap anyway so what does it matter

Actually thinking about it, wasnt this the "dodgy" turbo conversion that was done? In which case im guessing you correctly informed the insurer that it was now a turbo conversion as well?
If so, ive always wondered how much extra a turbo conversion is compared to insuring an oem turbo? And how much extra to add the turbo timer to it?

Will vary, but for me it was no different. Makes sense really as there is no functional difference between a conversion and OEM car.

No, I informed them I was going to install one and asked how much the mod might cost me? They asked for a £30 admin fee which I argued should be wavered as I have been a good customer of theirs for well over a decade. Which they did.

Well you would be correct that the conversion was full of quite frankly lazy, messy and in some cases shockingly dangerous attempts at even the most basic workmanship, plus work not done, parts not fitted and cheap replica parts fitted all of which I was charged full whack for including the VAT. Thankfully between myself and independent mechanics and a real MR2 specialist this has all been corrected at my expense. Of course I informed my insurers that it was now a full Rev 3 conversion including each and every modification and extra, everything. I even told them I intended to do so months before I went ahead with it. The increase in my already fully paid for insurance policy? About £30 for the admin fee if I remember correctly.

I answered these above mate.

The car is running perfectly, pulls like a train, not a hint of smoke at all now, everything that needed redoing, fake items replaced with correct items, items not fitted but charged for all replaced, all wiring redone and/or tidied up etc etc.
