I forgot to mention, it's not all bad news.
The engine is actually bang on, I did another compression test and all good. I did have one done before I bought the engine as well mind you.
A little bit of smoke on occasion from idle that's all. Maybe some wear in the turbo but forging the lot in the next couple of years anyway.
