'91 MR2 GT T-Bar in White

Post by Kiddo »

Well it's with a heavy heart that I've got to sell my '91 GT T-Bar but with a house sale in the next couple of weeks and the loss of the ample parking I've become accustomed to, two cars need to go, one of which is the MR2. I was building it to become my fast road/track car but with a baby due within the month on top of everything else, even if I found somewhere to store it, it wouldn't get the time it deserves.

The car's a UK spec Rev1, so no ABS or power steering (the way I like it) and it's currently got around 129k miles on the clock. Current MOT until February next year, with all advisories being seen-too other than the chip in the windscreen.

I've owned it for the last two years and in that time it's had a fair bit of work done to it:

Cam belt and waterpump changed.
Complete Rev2> brake set-up (refurbished front and rear calipers, new discs and pads plus braided Goodridge lines).
Rebuilt suspension (new inserts, dust boots, and top-mounts and plates up-front) with Apex lowering springs.
New battery (Bosch S4), alternator and belt.
Fully serviced other than coolant, but Toyota red coolant supplied.
Magnecor leads, new plugs and dizzy cap.
New Toyo Proxes T1R's on OEM staggered 15" alloys.

Next on my list of things to do was Polybush the car (I got as far as fitting the front ARB bushes when doing the suspension!) and change the coolant for the proper Toyota red fluid. I simply ran out of time but it's all included in the sale.

It also has a Mongoose exhaust and a decat pipe fitted, which sounds nice, but not too loud.

Toyota wallet full of service history, including all bar one MOT since new and the Clifford immobiliser certificate which helps with the insurance.

Half leather and alcantara interior (refurbished two years ago so look good), MOMO steering wheel, black interior with T-Bar bags and sun shades. JDM "Man In Dandism" mats. Leather gear gaiter.

Exterior is good with no major rust, just some slight areas of bubbling around the T-Bar. Paintwork could do with a mop and polish to be honest, but cleans up well. The OSF corner lets the car down a bit; it's had a light ding but with some light sanding and blowing-over would look good again. As it was going to be more track-orientated, the cosmetics never bothered me.
It's also got a turbo engine cover and later Rev3 boot and spoiler. Looks good but the holes where the original spoiler were would need filling. I have got the original boot, spoiler and engine cover so this could all be changed back if required.

No stereo or speakers fitted. Never came with a stereo and the old speakers/sub were taking-up valuable weight so were removed.

The car is currently in Lydd, Kent and is road legal so can be taken-out on the road. Drop me a PM or feel free to drop me a message on 07793026309 (I work shift so I'll reply eventually!)

I'm after £1100 which will include a load of spares I've hoarded.

Hmm, kind of... Literally had an offer on a house accepted yesterday. It's the double garage, ample parking kind of house we've been after for ages so for the time-being, I'll be holding onto the MR2. But if the sale falls-through any time soon, it'll be available.
