My 1993 G-Limited

Post by oVerboost »

Thought I should really post up some pictures of my MR2, I used to have a lovely Rev5 uk spec GT which I have regretted selling ever since I did, so last month after selling my car I decided I wanted another one. Looked at a few all in different specs, most were sadly quite bad condition wise and one which was described as "immaculate" was the furthest thing from immaculate as could be, so I was nearly ready to give up when I found a black g-limited import in London. So after a conversation with the owner I thought I'd go and have a look, so drove up from Cornwall and thankfully it was as described! One family owned since it was imported (2 owners in the UK), completely standard but needed a bit of tidying up.

So this was how it was after a machine polish the week I got it home...

I then ordered up a set of coilovers, overhauled all the brakes and put it through an MOT, passed first time with a few minor advisories which was nice!

Next was choosing a set of wheels, in the end I opted for some fully refurbed ultra rare Work Stolz staggered 16" alloys, adjusted the coilovers and here is how it sits now...

Have some spacers on order, so as soon as they're on I'll go and take some location photos and post them up. Not bad progress for a month though I think :)

Only the same as I had on my last one, TA Technix from ebay, they're made in Germany and are TUV tested/ approved so have to be tested quite vigorously. They aren't the greatest, but for the money they're decent enough :)

Bit more tweaking, adjusted the suspension some more and re-adjusted camber etc.

Also fitted some 20mm rear spacers and some 5mm front spacers to bring the wheels out a touch and replaced the black wheel nuts for some strengthened extended purple tuner nuts.

Not done too much recently just enjoyed driving it but did paint the calipers (black) and do a few other jobs that needed doing. Still really enjoying being back in an MR2. :)
