Andy's Mk1 - 3VZ V6

Post by ayresyboy »

I think I have a problem. Sold my standard silver Mk1b.

And few days later bought this (Richard Brett's Mk1 with 3VZ in it).

Time came to pick her up. Was good to meet the nice bloke Mr Brett.

Unfortunately she lost drive on the M25 after I lost the front number plate on the M11 lol

Image

The COR was the culprit

Got her working next day after advice from Mr Brett. Simply had to connect the red bullet connections you see in the pic. This bypasses the COR.

With Patrick informing me of the nasty wiring I popped down to him. A-Team music commence...

Wiring tidied up nicely and ECU shifted a bit further to the left with a mk2 COR installed

Retro original cloth seats in

Air scoop off

Front bumper off and changed for an original Mk1a bumper complete with new number plate

Plan is to fit one of Patrick's Haslbeck front splitters with PW's wide arches

Image

Also removed the red gear gaiter and knob and screwed a mk2 knob on

Image

So on way back from Patrick's I managed to overheat her and pop a coolant hose off. Caused a pretty scene but was able to re attach the hose and fill with water thanks to the technical support hotline under Patrick in my phone book. Got an air lock still as temp needle was back n forth all way home.

The rad fans only operate on a manual switch. And I forgot to turn them on. Doh!

Ordered these

Thought I'd crack on with the coolant. Dumped all the old stuff via the radiator valve and hoses attached to it with the rear jacked up.

Started refilling and got a leak. Doh! Guessing I've blown the water pump seal. So I sorn'd the little girl. Will come back to her at a later date

Got the leak patched up by the garage next door to me a while ago now. Charged a battery and fired her up. Still sounds good :D

But I have to be realistic...I don't have the time to really finish this project as I have another one on the go. Would be better off in a fellow members hands.

So does anyone on here want this? Drop me a PM if you're interested.
