Fully synth? Mobil1 15/50 maybe?

not mobil 1 way too thin on a high mileage engie you will end up with oil leaking from every joint

Steve would just use a 10/40 Magnatec. Its absolutely fine with an engine like the 4AGE

I would use nowt else except Castrol GTX magnatec 10w40.
Use a genuine toyota oil filter and your sorted.
Ive tried various oils in the past including mobile 1 and none were as good as the magnatec.

I'm in the middle of a 2 year service on mine. Using valvoline this time as the autofactors were doing a bit of a deal on it. Will let you know how I get on.

Oilman has been posting up some articles on stuff like this - do a quick search and have a look in the knowledgebase too.
The principle is to keep to the original grade of oil, but increase the quality of the oil used...
I'd use at least a Semi-synth given you're going to be tracking the car (?) and oil temps will be higher. The semi and fully synths are more temperature stable and less likely to break down

I have always used Magnatec on mine ,seems about the best for our cars,as far as i know.
