How did you get on with the PDF? The brake lines passed! :thumleft:

Final spec is sorted, the price for the lines is fixed (£52.54+vat/pr), the Mk2 kit is now officially LIVE! \:D/

I managed to forget to bring the template with me #-o I should be able to do it on monday.

Which kit would be best for a car that is 99% street and then 1% Nurb/airfield days etc. With ferodo ds2500 and the lines, what would be the overall price?

Oops! #-o

To be honest while I've got both versions of the kit, I'm hoping no-one will NEED the heavier 28mm thick disc as the 18mm one is far more elegant!

So I'd go for the 18mm thick (4P018) kit. It would look like:

- 4P018 - 298.5x18 WMS SW20 front kit = £431.69+vat
- Ferodo DS2500's are £47.20+vat/pr
- Front Earls WMS-fit braided brake lines = £52.54+vat/pr
- UK zone 1 shipping = £FREE when payment is via bank transfer as it saved the fees! (otherwise it's £10.00+vat)

= £531.43+vat ( £624.43 inclusive)

Hot off the press, here's the monster WMS T30x caliper at long last! It uses a mono-bridge design which makes it very very stiff vs the competition, giving really good pedal feel but at a fraction of the cost of a true monoblock. It's also the next size up from the T20 caliper.

The plan for it on the Mk1 is to fit it to a 298.5mm kit....watch this space.

Just a heads-up as we're down to the last few days where if anyone wanted to order a kit now I can just about keep it at 17.5% vat instead of 20%.

The reason is that HMRC has made a rule that as long as something is paid for before the vat rate goes up in Jan, the "vat date" can be in Dec (17.5%) instead of being the shipping date (which is the usual rule, and forces the vat to 20%).

So if anyone wants to dive in and save that extra 2.5% drop me a PM ASAP! :thumleft:

I've created the brake bias comparisons for the Mk1:

Standard AW11-b (late Mk1 MR2):
Image

...that's the standard car, here are the upgraded options....

Standard rear brakes matched with 277mm disc / 1.38" piston WMS kit:
Image

Standard rear brakes matched with 277mm disc / 1.25" piston WMS kit:
Image

"22v" (Rev 2>on Mk2 MR2) rear brakes matched with 277mm disc / 1.38" piston WMS kit:

So there are a few options there, the 1.38 and the 1.25 pistons both work fine for the std car, but I would probably opt for the 1.25 in most cases.

Just a note to confirm that we can supply Carbotech pads for our calipers as people as so keen on them for the MR2! Here's how the various options compare:

- EBC Reds are £36.44+vat/pr
- EBC Yellows are £34.40+vat/pr
- EBC Blues are £38.93+vat/pr
- Ferodo DS2500 (fast road) = £47.20+vat/set
- Ferodo DS3000 (race) = £50.40+vat/set
- Carbotech XP8 (race) = £145.00+vat/set - Other compound info available, please ask...

I just got the first batch of 300mm AW11 front brackets in!

I've got a bit of messing about with the discs I want to use, but it looks like a 301x22 kit could be on the shelf in a week or two....

Drop me a PM if you like the sound of this. :thumleft:

302x22mm brackets in the flesh! :D

I'm chuffed with them, they duck "inside" the disc, meaning that the disc is it is actually further away from the wheel spokes (in terms of offset) than we managed with the smaller kits.

Curvy!

Here's the first complete 302x22mm AW11 front kit (4P161), these are shot inside the 16" Mk3 wheel and there's loads of room, no wheel spacer needed! :D

Basic kit is £533.32+vat (calipers/discs/brackets/bolts etc).

I'm pondering releasing a 2-pot front kit for the Mk1! It uses the AW11b 258mm front discs and fits under the 14" AW11 front wheels (I don't have a 13" one to play with yet). The Lotus Elise uses a similar 2-pot front caliper with a pad that's approx 77x50x14 (38cm/2 ish). The WMS T10 pad is smaller, at approx 48x42x12.5 (20cm/2 ish), but high temperature compounds are cheap in the WMS format. Piston area in the largest piston version of the T10 is 76% of the AW11b caliper though so you will get a bias shift to the rear - but lots of people seem to want this.

Here's the WMS T10 caliper!

I'd definitely be interested in a twin pot setup that fits standard wheels and if there's a chance it'll fit 13s that'd be a bonus.

Unfortunately I've just bit the bullet and shelled out for Carbotechs for my stock calipers.

Prices for the hoses and the PDF links are both in the first post of this thread - which kit have you got? (there are two offsets of 277x25 disc).
