no offecnce but its a little narrow minded i think...
focus RS / Escort cosworth etc etc they are just family cars hotted up./..
some people need the extra space and more than 2 seats but still wanna have fun..
i reakon a VXR corsa could be a great fun little car... decent seats etc.
nice and new... if thats what someone id after...
like said no offence meant i just think there are better cars out there i like a lot of the new hot hatches out there.. but as i have said before.. we cannot all be the same.. different people different views otherwise the world would be boring..

The Corsa VXR does lots of things an MR2 doesn't do.

Re: Corsa VXR
Never liked the old Corsa's at all but I actually think these VXR's are quite nice and stylish for a hatchback and I'd imagine they're fun to drive too.
Re: Corsa VXR
Wouldn't want one, I don't trust Vauxhall engines. Destroyed a 52 plate one when it was about 6 months old and am now banned from hiring cars from that garage.
I am going to live forever, or die trying!
Re: Corsa VXR
What on earth did you do to it?

I drove it for a weeend in the same way I have driven every car.
Needed:
Replacement brake pades (front and rear)
Replacement discs (front and rear)
Brake fluid replacement
Exhaust (well part of) replacement where it had blown
Full service
There were concerns about the headgasket, the manifold
Basically when I handed it back it ran like a sack of spuds, it was clearly very sick.

Re: Corsa VXR
I reckon it was in a bad state when you got it. Been ragging the boobs off my Astra for about 14 months now. Brakes are fine, engine is fine. It's only problems were the EGR and alternator.
Lots and lots of my mates have, between them, owned lots and lots of Vauxhalls and believe me, they've been ragged to bu88ery. But never had problems like that.

Re: Corsa VXR
Well I have to say, it's not a common thing to happen so I certainly wouldn't base my opinion of all Vauxhall's on that one experience.
Although there is a known fault with the turbo/manifolds on pre VXR turbo petrol models. Vauxhall do offer to fix it under warrenty and, as far as I know, out of warrenty too.

Re: Corsa VXR
None turbo model.
Also based on other experiences of Vauxhalls, I just find them to be unreliable and rone to breaking.

Re: Corsa VXR
my prides of joy, and it makes me laugh at some off the comments, true the astra cant put all of its power down but even still, it is a very quick car and still remains one of the fastest hatch's
as for the debate on mr2 vs astra,
acceleration the mr2 will allways win , but both accelerating from 60-70 plus, im afraid the astra will happily pull constantly to outrun it, i know because me and the g friend have experimented lol, as for the corsa vxr, if you were to ignore the fact its a corsa its a brilliant all round car, the only reason its a slated car is because the previous models being driven by tos$ers, off course i prefer the mr2 but i honestly dont think you can call it a bad car.
my darlings....
