Your thinking is all wrong. You just need to get a target in your head and work to it. Even if it means retraining or getting a better job - the test is how much do you want it? :thumleft:

How do you find the r34? I was very tempted with a mint R32 gtr earlier this year.
I used to have a T61 Supra but ended up missing the mr2 due to it not being much fun round the lanes, really missed the go-kart handling of the 2. Other then that the car was awesome just seemed to float around the lanes with no effort (pics are in my garage).
I was wondering if the gtr is similar or more of a driver’s car, maybe somewhere in the middle?
Obviously its a bigger car so some of the sensation will be lost.

I keep seeing the od cherished R32 gtr coming up for sale at affordable prices.

In all honesty I'd say go for it. The amazing thing about any of the GTRs is how light and nimble they feel for such a big car. Less understeer than an MR2, variable four wheel drive, but still very involving. IMHO.

What you will miss is the low down kick you get from an MR2 Turbo. That doesn't happen in a GTR - I'd go as far as to say first is disappointing in the main!! But once you get into second and feel the progressive input of the turbos it really is a lot of fun. GTRs are most impressive mid-range when an MR2 Turbo is starting to loose puff. :eye:

Defo get one, but don't spend less than £5K as they are bl00dy pricey to fix.

Thanks for the info, I had a single T61 on my Supra so i had no low down kick. When in 6th gear doing motor way speed there was very little power, but drop a gear and hold on.
I suppose the best bet is for me to drive one. I will see how thinks go next year. :thumleft:

I dont have enough money to buy a house and a car like that :(

Unless of course you want to swap yours for my Astra Toni?

I could double it's value, by filling it with petrol.

and triple it with 6 months tax

Dont start on that, sore subject!
Put it this way, I've put 2x 6 months tax discs on it since I had it @ £105 each. I reckon thats actually what the car is worth.
Car tax is lame at the best of times let alone when it's on a crap car.

matt you should pop up to chafford hundred sainsburys on a friday night, had to stop there for fuel last week after leaving lakeside and there was a grey r32 white r33 and an 09 grey gtr being spanked around the car park, apparently they're regulars there, sure they'd take you for a spin

and isnt the gtr technically the r36 skyline? since the r35 was the big cruiser?
