My front bonnet gas ram kit arrived in the post today, so fitted them as soon as I got home from work. Great kit, remove two bolts per side (one from the wing and one on the bonnet hinge) and fit the gas ram bolts in place of them, attach the ram to these and pop on a couple of e clips and retaining pins then it`s job done. :thumleft: A handy fitting guide was included in the pack, penned by Peter G - SBits.

Visited Rogue Motorsport for the first time yesterday. They have a great setup there! New front tie rods fitted and a new power steering pump. I need to go back for rear hub replacement and have the wheels balanced as we ran out of time. Car is handling a lot better already but still not quite how I want it. Hopefully after the next visit it will be spot on.

Latest.. Went to SBits and Pete has supplied some replacement door rubbers and plastic kick panels, soldered a sensor in to cure the stock dash light appearing after my fan removal, bolted in the fire extinguisher and removed the de-limiter from the rear of my cluster. It was not needed as a) I have an aftermarket ECU and b) my car is a rev1 cable driven unit.

I need to go back for the replacement of my passenger and driver windows, they are scratched horrendously and need changing. Then Deepcar Autobodies will be doing a few more bits to tidy up a few cosmetic blemishes. My list getting shorter, once everything is done I can finally think about going for the engine rebuild I`ve been wanting for the last 8 years but never had the car to a high enough standard to warrant it. Soon...

Couple of shots from my last visit to Rogue on their ramp when the tie rods were refreshed, then when I squeezed under the car did my oil change (switched back to Toyota filter from Blue print, got a new filter off Pete).

Will be back at Rogue at the end of the month for rear bushes doing, then back up to Petes get my scratched windows switched out and a handling issue identified. I have a `snatchy` feel to my steering at the moment.. It`s just making me angry! Got so many parts replaced, geo setups, still a dodgy feel coming through! Having Rogue check the wheel balancing also but it feels like something more than that.

Another session at Rogue this week. Geo and wheel balance. Also had new rear bushes fitted.

Also this week, private plate D9 DAN sale fell through!! ](*,) The owner decided against selling at the last minute, so I had paid for it and got nothing! I have been refunded finally now though, so have now bought another plate DAN 5A.

Will be gutted if this one does not go ahead but I `think` it is owned stock by the private reg company so fingers crossed no problems this time. Would not mind so much but sold my D4 NVU plate prematurely because of it! I know not everyones cup of tea the whole private reg thing but I see it as an investment as well as a nice mod.

Yeah I don`t know what I was thinking mate! I did a total up of all the work and mods carried out over the years, the lack of use so all parts in good nick, and a total if I broke it into bits for what kind of money I would like...

And both were a lot bloody more than 4 grand! lol. So I thought 1) it is too cheap for what it is, and 2) I want to see the project through, forged build 350+ horesepower then it is goal achieved. Also, what other car could I buy that competes? Really, you are talking 20grand upwards, TVR, Porsche, Noble, for something that would put the same smile on your face and then who knows what needs doing to it. Better the devil you know!

Handling is `better`, but going to buy new tyres all round also see how it feels then.

Although I'm not a great fan of the veilside kit I think your car shows the kit off the best.

It's funny how we fall in and out of love with our cars. I was looking at getting rid of mine just coz I don't use it. Then I pulled it out the garage today to get something out and just thought "how could I sell this?"

I know what you mean I get the same feeling! The car annoys me but then another day I love it again.

Had my `snatchy` steering issue looked at by Pete yesterday at SBits. Some strange issues! Also been getting vibration at 70.

Control arms different lengths, knackered front ball joints, polybushes missing and instead old worn bushes in there when I had paid somebody else a couple of years ago to fit a full kit! Also, my steering rack needs adjustment and I have a spigot ring missing from one of my front alloys.

So new bushes and balljoints have been fitted, spigots ordered and I will need to take it in another day to sort the steering rack. This is the cause of my wheel rubbing on the near side, but weirdly the driver side does not scrub! It is because the turn is not equal it is bias to the left wheel.

I have been struggling with the problems above for many months now, and have wasted money on tracking/geo setups about 4 times, and finally I have answers and solutions to my problems! Getting somewhere at last.

Big thumbs up to Pete! :thumleft:

Hi Ash,

The polybushes were nothing to do with Rogue just to be clear, that is historic, I actually paid 3S Service Center to fit a full kit and never knew they were missing until Pete checked yesterday. They must have left the bushes with my old Ct26, steering fogs, blanking panel, blitz rad cap and carbon clock face plate in the land of lost items..

The work carried out by Rogue (fitting rear bushes) was perfect. The geo they did technically looked ok and wheels balanced up etc, but nobody noticed the bits that Pete found. But then again, were not specifically asked to check in the same way. So no criticism to Rogue, they have a good set up I have had good service there.

But anyway, a combination of specialists and especially thankful to Petes nosing around my car, is getting it where I want it to be.

Plate all went through ok this time, actually happier to have this one instead of D9 DAN. Deffo beats D4 NVU. Also, my TRD fuel cap is sorted. Pete modified an OEM fuel cap and then modded my TRD cap cover and turned it into one solid TRD fuel cap. Will get a pic forgot to take one earlier.

Fuse box covers have arrived.

New plans for the car again! It is at Petes for a few things sorting (dodgy windows, a dent and steering rack woes), then get Japfest out the way and I`m planning abflug arches, wheels refurb and done gold, new tyres all round.. Then finally the engine rebuild and get some power in the old girl.

Well my weird handling charecteristic issues have been solved! I have a rev1 front hub offside, rev3 front hub nearside! So my nearside wheel was pushed out further and adjustments had been made to compensate! All being put right by Pete at SBits, top man! So should be good for Japfest.

Also had Dave at Deepcar paint my rear boot which I had previously stripped out a couple of years back, then Pete has done a wire tuck and tidy and made more of a feature of my ECU in there, so I can leave my boot open at Japfest without embarrassment! Will add some pics later.

`Raptor Protection` Painted rear boot.

T Bar Glass edge trim painted black.

Wire tuck and tidy to ECU. Huge amount of excess wiring that has been removed by Peter G at SBits!

Quad rear light modification.

I did also have it super clean the day before Japfest, but the car got really filthy on the way down! So I didn`t bother taking any pictures of it at Japfest, but did buy an entry photo as you could not see the muck and salt too bad. Will take a bucket and some cleaning products next time!

Plans for it next are -

-Windows replaced
-Front trunk tidy and painted `raptor protection`
-Wheels refurb AGAIN (Gold?? Bronze?? Decisions to make!)
-Water ingress to footwell sorted
-Incorrect revision front nearside hub to be replaced
-Engine lid fans install
-Wide arch kit fitting
-Fully forged rebuild and remap. 400bhp required.

I spy with my little eye.. Something beginning with ABFlug.. OK, currently fitted inside my boot  Bought from Jaaashh. Looking forward to a Veilside wide arch though, why not be different hey!

TRD fuel cap, no more problems with the super suction/vacuum unscrewable JDM cap as this does not have the `click`overtighten feature, just nip up hand tight and I have had no issues!
