ST205 Chargecooler Install Parts/costings

Post by Andy K »

Anyone considering a install of a ST205 Chargecooler, you may be interested in parts list/costings.

I've just completed an install myself on my Rev3, using only a pair of ramps, socket set, screwdrivers, knife, vice, drill, hammer and doing it outside.
All the info to complete the job is on here, every topic is covered, just use the search facility, or browse back through the topics.

The job does take quite a while, allow a weekend and take your time the nose needed to come off for me, although others without aircon have managed it without removing it.
You need to get under the car to route the pipes, not good if you are claustrophobic etc, and the undertrays need to come off.
If you feel unsure take the car to one of the MR2 specialists.

I used:

ST205 Chargecooler core, Fensport, £225 (17.5% discount for cash)
Davies Craig EBP Pump, Demon Tweeks, £105.74 delivered
Fiat Cincequento Radiator, Brand New, Ebay, £28 delivered
Fiat Cincequento radiator fan switch, Breakers Yard, £5
10m of 19mm ID,25mm OD clear plastic pipe, Walker rubber and plastics, £19.62
ST205 air input connector (sock), Toyota, T17861-88480, £23.15
ST205 Throttle cable bracket, Toyota, T78024-88480 £11.79
32/19mm Pipe reducers, B+Q £1.98 pair
6 Stainless Steel jubilee clips, £6.72
Self Adhesive foil tape, B+Q, £4.98
1m 5mm Black rubber pipe, Walker rubber and plastics, £1.38
1m 12mm Black rubber pipe, Walker rubber and plastics, £1.97
1m pre drilled fixing strip, Wickes, £2.89
Bag of Ty-wraps, B+Q, £1.99
Total: £440.21 inc vat

I could have saved a few quid by using the Demon Tweeks IMOC discount, and perhaps some from Mr T.

Oh, and don't forget Rory's temperature sensor mod to keep it in check, well worth the £10 or so.

Very comparable to a good Air/Air Intercooler price wise, read other posts for performance comparisons. :D need I say more

Many thanks to the people who thought of and developed this mod =D> =D>

cheers

It wasn't VAT free, t'was 10% IMOC discount, plus 4% for not having to package it up, plus 3.5% to avoid the charges Amex would have cost them. honest :D
fensport wasn't the cheapest, a celia breakers in the west midlands would have done me one for £195.

Cliff, just go through this section, looking for peoples posts about chargecoolers, it's all there

cheers
