Fitting a Rev 3 Ignitor
Step-by-step guide on fitting an ignitor by RedMR2
Just fitted my rev 3 ignitor today, what a total pain in the ass!!

The ignitor is stupidly located directly underneath the fuse box in the engine bay, thought I'd do a write up of changing an Ignitor on a MK2 turbo:

Firstly removed the engine lid side pieces to allow more room to work, then removed the strut braces to allow more manoeverability with the fuse box.

Uncrewed the fuse box retaining screws and removed the fuse box lid and undertray. The fuse box can now be moved out of the way to allow access to the ignitor.

Before being able to remove the ignitor, there is a plastic cover over it which can be fiddly to remove, once removed remove the screws either side of the ignitor then simply unplug to remove.

Plug in new ignitor and reverse the steps above, bear in mind that the upper fuse box screw also goes through a piece of metal attached to a cable - not sure what this is'

turned the key, fired up first time. Rev 3 ignitor fitted. Now to get the map finished
